No clue how accurate this is, but…. Why?

He has an OK WHIP (1.209). He is a pitch to contact guy and that could be dangerous on this team (9,8 K/9 and a 5+ K/BB)
Looking at AAA, he's pitched better of late and probably one of the better pitchers with Sacramento. Only two pitchers on that staff with a better WHIP. That being said, why not call up one of them? Cole Waites was rumored (at least in the tzill rumor mill) to get a call this month. He's done well in his 5 appearances in AAA. Then there's Shelby Miller. One of Sabean's "veteran presence" guys (which maybe why FZ isn't tapping him).
My bigger gripe is the lack of patience with Johnson. I get he is like 1 for 15 this season but that's only 15 ABs. Maybe let him play a bit longer?

I am not too unhappy with jimmy jacking Johnson. I think he is what he is. A defensive 5th OFer. No need to invest too much in his development.

Luis Ortiz grew up a Giants fan and he left no doubt about how hardcore a fan he was by listing Todd Linden as one of the players he remembers watching. He has been to just one game at Oracle Park: The Ishikawa walk-off in 2014.

That's #forevergiant stuff right there.

Okay, was he part of this forum at one point? Todd Linden!?!?

I will say, he's from the San Joaquin Valley, so he's got that going for him.

Gabe Kapler said Sean Hjelle will be a candidate to serve as the Giants' 29th man for tomorrow's doubleheader in Milwaukee.

Well, that pretty much answers my suggestion to your question on the other thread.

Austin Dean is here. Giants will have a roster move to make. Veteran is an outfielder/utility man who hits from right side.

Reports that Yermín Mercedes' time with the Giants could be coming to an end. They will need a roster spot for Cole Waites.

Austin Dean as well. Probably multiple roster moves coming. At this point, anyone on the IL (and not yet on the 60-day) can be transferred to the 60-day given how little of the season is remaining.

From what I heard, Dean is on the roster. That will require someone from the 28 to be DFA’d or optioned. Waites is in Chicago, but has not been added to the roster yet. Likely just the taxi squad (whatever that is, exactly, I still don’t really know).

We already have an open spot on the 40 from Belt going to the 60, so that isn’t an issue for Dean.
