I"m shocked they would give up O'Hoppe for Brandon Marsh. I never would have done it.

58 is not a lot of games left, retro. The 55-47 Phils need to go 35-23, .603, just to win 90 and the 62-41 Braves can loaf at 28-31 to reach 90. But the real competition is for the 2nd wild card where it's SD vs Phillies. I say that since Padres just acquired reliever Josh Hader from MIL making Pads tougher than STL for the WC.

Phils may still have an edge since SD must play 21 games vs Dodgers and Giants. But Phils will have 15 vs Braves and Mutts, and toss in a series with SF and HOU. Phils control their own destiny and gotta play no less than .600 ball. :hope:
Don't know jvett, but I saw the WC race in the NL is between Phillies, Mutts or Bitches, Pads, and the Cards. So it is literally five teams fighting for two WC spots. Am I correct? So if I am, then it would be in our best interest to surpass the Bitches or the Mutts, whomever of those two wins the division, the loser will be in the WC Race and we will need to surpass.

Dombrowski stated emphatically that O'Hoppe was not going to be traded when he was negotiating with the Reds for Mahle. O'Hoppe was one of the prospects the Reds wanted. That dumb bastard is lying or is getting confused again. Dumbass says one thing one day and then turns around and does the opposite the next. That's why we are in the mess we are in!

Phillies get reliever David Robinson from the Cubs. The 37-year old tossed 40 1/3 innings of 2.23 ERA ball with Chicago, striking out over 30% of opposing hitters while inducing ground-balls at an above-average 48.3% clip. Hope he doesn't tire in September.

Phillies To Acquire David Robertson From Cubs
Who did we give-up to get this Pitcher?!

No. There are 3 wildcard spots. 1 plays 2. 3 plays 3rd best division winner. Top two division winners get byes. Wildcard round is best of 3 game series in higher seed's park.

If nothing else, the Phillies added a lot of hair to the roster

I was unfortunately conceding the top two spots in the East to the Mutts and Bravos. Screw me! Phillies control their own destiny with 15 games vs those two teams. And they can start tonight.

That's right. Starting with the 2022 season, MLB added a third wild card team in each league. So, after the Braves, its the Padres, Phils, and Cards competing for the final two, assuming SF doesn't move up.

Like Cedrique, I wouldn't have trade O'Hoppe for Marsh and we moved the worst Douchebag Pitcher, Familia out the door along with Herrera and Moniak who were both useless.
