I think it's because James can bring back the most in return in a trade.

Roll with RW, AD and whatever they can get for LeBron and then let RW walk after next season and have cap space with him off the books.

That only works if they can get real value for Lebron. However, if you start that process, you have to see it through (and hopefully find that solid offer). I don't think Lebron will accept the team trolling for offers, then acting like nothing happened. He'll also have a say in where he goes, since his willingness to re-sign there will have a huge swing in his trade value.

I don't want Westbrook around for even 1 more game personally.

The options right now are Atkinson (better suited to coaching and teaching a young team), Stotts (average to slightly above average) and Ham (would be a rookie HC and not commanding a lot of respect from James and AD).

Lebron respected Lue who had no HC experience. I think he'd listen to Ham.

Is the Harden Simmons trade the biggest lose lose trade in history? Something to ponder as I play poker today.

I think school is still out. I want to see Harden with a summer where one of two things could happen:
1. He finally gets the cranky hamstring addressed if that is what is holding him back
2. He gets in the lab and he adds to his game this summer so that he can be 20 and 10 and a supporting guy to Embiid and Maxey.

I would prefer number 2 because that means he’s found a fit and it isn’t demanding a max salary fit. I would love for him to be the guy above and would pay him 4/100 million to close out on Embiid’s career.

And if he’s still James Harden, the dude that projects to sending I Don’t Care Vibes like 2 2nd half shots in an elimination game then he is going to be easy to get away from after this season. Need one more season to judge this trade from the Philly standpoint.
