I think you guys are overvaluing Donovan Mitchell. I don’t think he’s a great player. I just think he came on to a team that had little scoring when he came into the league and he could Chuck 25 a game. So people now think he’s good. Give the top 1/3 of the league that many looks a game and they’ll likely be more productive than he.

I'd put him at the all-star level, but not the perennial all-star type. In the discussion every year...

Not an all star for me:
Luka
Book
CP3
Curry
Dame

All guards in the West that would be on my yearly West All Stars before Mitchell

Luka, Book and Curry are superstars. CP3 at this point is high all-star level. Dame a star.

Just bc he doesn't make an all-star doesn't mean he isn't all-star level. He's proved time and time again he is an all-star type of player.

Agree to disagree. He’s just a volume shooter for me. Doesn’t defend. Doesn’t make guys around him better.

....and Ja is coming.

Edwards in a few years too.

I think Donovan is in that group.

But, definitely not at the top of the list.

Yep. Good names to add. I’m cool being the minority opinion here. Legit plus NBA starter. Can’t be Batman on a contender and maybe can’t even be the Robin.

Lambo not exactly coming off well either. Emotional distress over a kick from a 57 year old coach has affected him that deeply? Not only that, Meyer held back Lambo's participation trophy...

Meyer's own arrogance has ruined his reputation. But for Lambo to say he can't sleep because of him? Come on man.

Kinda the whole point, you upgrade and he can be a #2 or #3. Jimmy, Bam, Mitchell. He doesn't have to be Batman, really even Robin.

And I’m saying he really doesn’t fit with that group. Ironically, he fits best with a center like Gobert that doesn’t need shots but can cover behind him for his defensive issues. It would make more sense to start with those two and then add an elite wing like a PG13 type (not him particularly because he’s long in the tooth now) that guy needs to be the Batman on a Mitchell team. They tried that with Bogdanovic. The problem is he isn’t better than Mitchell and you need somebody better than Mitchell.

Bam doesn't require a lot of shots either

He’s not a fit for them at all. He dominates the ball and is an inefficient player. His presence would serve to negate Jimmy Butler’s value. The two players you called out in Herro and Robinson are both higher percentage shooters and play better off the ball than on the ball. I haven’t even mentioned Lowry yet. He has zero role if they add Mitchell. This would be a perfect example of an organization adding a name guy regardless of fit. That’s what dumb organizations do and I don’t think the Heat are a dumb organization. This move would really surprise me on their end.
Yep.

You just described the Heat lol. Bam doesn't need shots and is a great defensive force and Jimmy is an elite wing - Batman.

Bam wouldn't be a #2 that needs shots just from an overall talent standpoint, Bam would be the 2nd best player. The shots are being distributed mainly between Butler, Mitchell, Lowry and role players.

No I didn’t. How often have you watched Bam? He’s much more of an offensive player than Gobert. Bam can actually facilitate and has become a strong passer. Outside of put backs Rudy has no other offensive game and they’re dramatically different defensive players. Bam’s value is being able to switch on to everybody 1-5. Gobert is elite rim protection. Entirely different style of defenders. Lazy take to think that because both guys are plus defenders that they’re the same guy.

Don’t get me wrong. My squad is in the East and Miami is about to close them out in a series. I would LOVE for them to pull a Knicks and give up assets to get an overrated chucker who doesn’t fit their culture. I’d be all about them fucking up like that.

Jimmy Butler also doesn’t take 3s the way he should. A wing that gets paired with a ball dominant chucked like Mitchell should have a more willing 3 point shooter around him.

She was great in Sons of Anarchy.
Sure is...Been watching it last few weeks.

Cannot think of the name of it but was a network show she starred in not too long ago as an attorney I liked.
