From what I've read, much of it seems to be focused around the scene where he throws the finals MVP trophy through his office window. Apparently, his office at the forum didn't have any windows, he had very little memorabilia in it (the only reason he had any was because it's expected when you work for a basketball team) and apparently that trophy is the last one he'd have out because it was from a finals they lost.

That's an absolutely ridiculous thing to threaten a lawsuit over.

They have really made West look good in terms of his development as a front office person. He is absolutely my favorite character in the show.

Yeah, I'm starting to wonder if he's seen anything past the first couple of episodes.

He's become more "likeable" with each episode.

Honestly, the real life story of Spencer Haywood is more interesting to me than the one they told on the show. Why the fuck would you change THAT?

One other thing that piece left out since its talking about fact changes, I'm pretty sure I've read that Jerry's mom died before he ever bought the team so the timeline for all of the Jessie stuff is entirely fictionalized. Same thing for Jeanie as the show is portraying her having WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more importance and involvement than she actually did

Yeah the overfictionalization I get they have to make a good story, but it just feels like a soap opera now with characters that aren't real versions of the real people they are portraying. I guess I wanted something more documentary and less soapy.

These are the things that getting annoying. The story is good enough without overtly fictionalizing everything.

Yea...I thought the whole Westhead/Riley/Mckinney storyline was pretty lame as to how they tried to make it seem like Westhead was struggling.

The finale might have been the most accurate portrayal of Jerry West. Not looking too good for your lawsuit there, Logo.

Season 2 was picked up. Thinking this could have multiple seasons. The Celtic rivalry, Magic and HIV, the Kobe & Shaq years, to LeBron.

I am so done with it. Just fizzled for me, plus the basically untethered to the truth nature of it, and I'm all done loving up the Lakers (ewww).

Might check in each season to see if they keep nailing the lookalike actors (West, Bird, Magic, Kareem, etc)

Does season 2 pick up with this era, or jump to his other book about Shaq/Kobe?

Haven't read the book; didn't know if covered the decade, the season, or...?

No idea. I was talking more about story line. The rise of Riley would be a pretty interesting story.

I haven't read the book (but I'm going to). From what I have read about the book,it's strictly about the Showtime decade. He wrote another book about the Shaq/Kobe years.

My guess would be that, since this only covered that first season, the next season would just continue the Showtime era.

For sure. Given that it's based on the book, I imagine the series is likely limited to that source material for the most part.
