LOL. So the show was cancelled, and they only did 7 episodes for this season, and ended the show with the Lakers losing to the Celtics in 1984? That's awesome for Lakers haters, but kind of weird for a show centered around the Lakers' 80s dynasty. At the very least (and likely that was the original idea), they should have ended a 10 episode season with the Lakers finally overcoming the Lakers, which they only showed as a part of a very anticlimactic montage.

Too bad they cancelled it, I really enjoyed this show.

They had to have filmed all 10 though. So maybe they will release the other episodes on streaming and just stop showing it on the network?

It's weird to release just 7 episodes. Maybe the strikes had something to do with this and they'd only managed to finish 7 before those.

But well, I think it was a fairly expensive show at a time when WB are cutting costs pretty much everywhere.

2nd season wasn’t anywhere as good as the first season. I bailed after first episode of season 2. I guess if it got canceled most people saw it the way I saw it.

Loved season 1 for the most part. I don't have HBO currently, so I didn't see any of season 2. It was the only reason I was considering adding HBO to my YTTV plan, since HBO doesn't seem to get any new movies anymore.

IDK... i dont mind how it ended... sure, it would have been nice to go deeper into Magic and his HIV... but not sure if that was a good tone for this show to go to... it played almost like a comedy....

not sure if i would have wanted the HEIGHT of the dynasty, not as much drama, and too much Lakers circle jerk...

if it was more Pat Riley centered i am sure that's part of the issue

Ending a Lakers-centric series with a Celtics championship is downright dirty.

sure... but the scene with the Busses in the arena together in that last scene was a good ending... the WE KNOW WE WILL BE FINE...

i mean, it was clear that story wise they could have and should have continued... and i dont know much about the history or drama.... but did much happen afterwards... would we have gotten tired of another season of Magic vs Bird?? they already respected eachother... what else did we need???

I'm sure they would've skipped ahead a bit again, like they did from season 1 to 2.

I didn’t understand the need to make up a fake lawsuit against Buss and allege he failed to get divorced before getting married again. He had a paternity suit but not that.

Writers strike probably killed the remaining 3....
Eh, the strike has been going on for months, can't see why that would affect 3 episodes but not the other 7. But I'm hardly an expert on how all that works so maybe

Because the strike started before they finished writing/filming 10 episodes.... is where I'd start
