Here are my general predictions for the 2022 Commanders draft.

1. If there (which it appears he will be), Kyle Hamilton is the pick.
2. A WR will be taken in the 2nd or 4th round.
3. A DT will be taken in the later rounds.
4. A LB will be taken in the later rounds.
5. A RB will be taken in the 7th.
6. There will be a trade back at some point after our 1st round pick.
7. We will be active for offensive players in UDRFA.

Hamilton will indeed be on board but he will be passed on.
If my memory is correct, skins passed on Derwin James

You are correct and we drafted Payne then gave Collins a boat load of money which he turned out to be a bust.

I agree Hamilton will be the pick. I like Kipers draft of Hamilton and Pickens to be our picks in the first two rounds. We could have a major curve ball in the 2nd round by drafting a RB. Hill and Walker have a great chance of being there. We brought them both in for a pre draft visit.

Deebo looking for a new home? Resign TMac and bring in Deebo on a LTD. Go with Deebo, Tmac, Samuel, Thomas, McKissick, Gibson, D. Brown, Sims etc... Would be fairly dynamic!!

Hell no to that deal. Its not all doom and gloom for us like the guys on here think it is. We were a playoff team last year if we had a good QB

I honestly believe the fans could run the organization either just as bad or much better than what we've seen the last 20+ years

this team is a 8-9 win team vs a last place schedule that has no chance at a super bowl as currently constituted. wince has never won a playoff game

The thing that scares me is that we went from a top 5 defense to #25 in 1 season. We could not stop anybody last year and no upgrades or changes have been made. If JDR chokes again this year, he has to go.

I agree that we are a 8-9 win team max. Wentz is not the savior people think he is. The more that is leaked out of the Indy camp, the more I realize that we got screwed in that trade. He has been benched multiple times, struggles to stay healthy, and literally makes the most boneheaded plays.

This team has a ton of issues. Even if we eke into the playoffs, we will get stomped. Fans have checked out until Snyder is gone or until we at least get a GM who knows what he is doing. The coach-centric approach was a diaster from the get go.

Could you explain how a well respected DC chokes? I am just trying to figure out how a guy that has been a successful DC forgot how to coach?

i think chokes was a little too far . i would say he did a poor job getting players to stop playing hero ball and play assignment football .

My comment to this dad is that this a familiar problem on the Redskins since Snyder has been the owner. Snyder has always been permissive with players which leads to bad play by the players and coaches who are handcuffed when they need to discipline players. There is no explanation for the way Young pass rushed last year. Wide and straight. No matter who the DC has been for years and years we have looked at two DB's looking at each other in confusion. after a long pass play.

Duke has admitted to not liking RR. I get that. He was mostly a .500 coach in Carolina and I agree with Duke that he is not a top talent evaluator. I also think Duke dislikes RR so much it colors most of his posts and he blames Turner, JDR, RR etc. I don't think JDR forgot how to coach, not as a DC.

For 20+ years fans have been blaming whatever coach was here. The one constant has been Snyder.

I am no Snyder fan and have made that very clear. I have been more critical of Snyder than most people on this board and am hoping Congress helps us get rid of him for good. I actually hope it is a witch hunt and that he is targeted for removal.

That being said, Snyder is not calling the plays or schemes from the sidelines. He is not hiring the coordinators and position coaches. He is not dropping the passes or missing the tackles. Snyder is a HUGE part of the problem, but the fans are now blaming him for anything that goes wrong on or off the field. This mentality absolves the coaches and players of any wrong doing. All we have to do is simply blame Snyder for everything and it is supposed to make us feel better.

I have no clue why our defense took a massive step back. As I have told Dean, I am a numbers guy. Perhaps you have a better explanation as to why we went from the #5 ranked defense to #25. Maybe Snyder demanded that JDR change schemes or call specific plays. Nixon allegedly did this in the 1970s when he called a play at the goal line. It might be an urban legend...I don't know.
What I can tell you is that there were numerous missed assignments and tackles each and every game. What I can tell you is that our #1 pick was a disaster on the field. What I can tell you is that our LBs and secondary underperform and make numerous mistakes. What I can tell you is that our DLine is not meeting expectations at all. We have allocated too many high draft picks on the DLine to have that kind of performance on the field.

Maybe it was an off-year? The main problem is that we had a terrible year on the defensive side of the ball and we literally made no coaching changes nor did we make any upgrades in FA. Maybe the draft or post-draft free agency signings will bolster the defense. At this point, RR appears to not believe it is an issue. Perhaps he thinks the draft will address the holes on defense. Did JDR choke or bomb last year, to me, he did. I am open to any other theories out there. The bottom line is that RR and JDR appear to not be worried about it as they kept all the position coaches and brought back McCain.

With Turner, he is in over his head. Did you know that he has only been a full-time OC once in his coaching career? He was a High School OC in 2007. That's right...that is the only full-time OC experience he has on his resume. Please tell me why he was qualified to be our OC? He was an interim QC in 2019 for 4 games and in those games, the offense did nothing. He was an Offensive Analyst at the Univ. of Michigan in 2017. His resume is pathetic and he is supposed to lead our offense? It's called nepotism.
How does Snyder come in to play with this?

I've gotta agree with this after looking at film reviews. The players were blowing assignments like crazy. You can go all the way back to the chargers game where someone blew an assignment on 3rd and 10+ against keenan allen

Not trying to be a dick here. But you used the word "appear" a LOT. That is a lot different than "JDR chokes." We can all say No. 5 defense is better than No. 25. What schemes is JDR using that you think he is choking? You don't like 4-2-5 with a lot of zone coverage? Should he be playing more man? Just trying to understand where his coaching choked?

I know how long Turner has been coaching. I also know his dad was a very good OC. I would think he knows a thing or two. So far he has had Haskins, a broken Smith and TH for QBs and one real WR.

If you are a numbers guy the D performed well two years ago against a much easier schedule than last years schedule.

IMO, JDR's messaging wasnt as clear as it should be to his players for games 1-5, and then he figured out how to be clearer with what he wanted. Also, obvoiusly, he made some adjustments to player assignments that helped (Collins to Buffalo Nickel, 3 safeties). It was unfortunate that it took as many games as it did, but on the other hand, the competition was better due to playing a first place schedule, and some of the player mistakes were baffling.

Personally, I coudl see how JDR came to the conclusion that he doesn't need high priced upgrades to fix his defense, especially if he feels as though he was cleare with what he wanted after game six.

I think the case is "muddier" on offense. Turner called a few godawful games, a few great games, and most of the games he called were average. On the other hand, TH couldn't make all of the throws, and everybody was injured. I think that when you think you have a creative offesnive mind as your OC, that these days you have to lock them up early. Lord knows the redskins let a LOT of offensive coaching talent leave over their recent history, so they pulled the trigger on Turner earlier than perhaps they should.

With a qb with an NFL arm, already a lot of speed on the field, and the likelihood of adding new weapons through the draft to help Wentz, this would seem to be the "show us what you got" season for Turner. Hopefully he rises to the occassion.
