1988 finals game 5 Rodman holds Magic to 1 FG when he was guarding him

Same finals game 6 Rodman blocks Kareem twice on one possession.

Lol who else can say they guarded Magic and Kareem in the same finals? Can’t even compare it to todays game

Lol you don’t shut down Magic and Jordan. But Rodman had some games where he did. Point is Ben Wallace didn’t have to guard one of the best PGs or SGs of all time. Dude could guard anyone do it very well that’s the point.

“Dennis covers Magic like a blanket,” Laker Coach Pat Riley said of Rodman.
Never said Rodman wasn’t a good defender, or said that Wallace was better.

No one can compare Rodman to anyone. Becasue he’s the only guy ever to guard 1 thru 5 on the court and he guarded the elite players in the league during the showtime Lakers and Bulls - 2 of the best teams of all time

If guys don’t want to respect a man for leading the league in boards SEVEN straight years, during its most physical era, that’s their choice.

As it was his to get ass wild with his hair after Demolition Man came out.

This is where you lose me. Like you just continue to look at offense only. Rodman was the best rebounder of all time and also one of the best defenders of all time. Those 2 alone make him every bit a top 75 player of all time.

I disagree. Rodman was a great rebounder and defender because he did virtually nothing else. Offense is pretty big part of the game since basketball is a game where players have to play both. If not for a few offensive rebounds, there was never a reason for Rodman to cross half court. His team was going to be playing 4 against 5 on that end of the floor regardless.

Maaaaybe he could be squeezed into the to 100, but not top 75.

Rodman averaged 7.3 points per game for his career. 8.8 during his time in Detroit.
Which ended at 31 years old.

Draymond is at 8.7 right now. He’s 31.

Ok strictly defenders… Ben Wallace won 4 DPOY awards. Top 100?

With the way this list was made, there will be players in 25 years that everyone will think is going to be good enough to be in that top 100 and so I believe Ben Wallace will be overlooked.

Right we did a chat about that, which players are playing now that are too young to make this list but have a shot at being one of the new 25?

Gonna say Embiid, Ja Morant, Luka, Jokic, maybe Edwards

Yeah just double checked his stats. Mutombo is getting in before him.

Trae Young with his stats and the fact he’s going to end up in LA.
