This result will make it a much smoother glidepath out of SF for Jimmy so Trey can take over. If they had gone to and maybe even won it, suddenly you have a problem moving on.

Niners haven’t really been a 4-down team all year. I agree that is conservative, but it isn’t what this team does.

I was hoping it was a real play and not just trying to draw them offfsides, but I can understand punting there. The biggest mistake is settling for a FG at the end of the first half when there was time to go for a TD. At that point, you don't know how many points you need to win.
