Carr would be a great fit for us. That is the guy we should be focusing on, not the big 3. The big 3 dont want to come here anyways so lets just mov on from it. Its either Carr or draft a qb at 11. Either way we are better than last year with Heinkie. RR is not on the hot seat. No need to make rash moves.
Give up the Carr thing, he is going no where.

45 mil cap hit for KC , the raiders beat writer put out the extension numbers for carr 5yrs 200 mil and grap wont be far behind and according to skinz2winz grap is better

now you make a move at 34 mil that leaves us at about 12 mil in cap space with JD to sign carter to sign simms to sign mccain to sign rsj to sign or their replacements nor have you addressed vet LB AH settle , next yr you have tmac , payne ionman flowers and wes to extend and we havent talked about the draft capitol we will lose
First off dad, don't put words in my mouth that never came out. I NEVER said JG was better than Carr. I have said I do not want Carr in DC and likely he won't be made available. That is all I have said in terms of comparison between the two players period. Yes, I want JG in DC simply because we are NOT getting the likes of Rodgers, Wilson or Watson so the next tier down includes JG, Carr and a few others. See, I clumped them all in the next tier of QB but who knows (speculation only) which players will be made available, we just don't. This is all up to RR to navigate through and from the sounds of it, I have heard he is "swinging for the fences" on his next QB rather that is a rookie or vet.
To address your cap concerns which normally you lean towards, "cap is going up we are fine with money", we simply don't resign BS ($20m cap savings), you trade Payne ($15m cap savings) and be selective with whom you bring back then we will be just fine with our cap dollars and should be able to extend a vet who is brought in and resign our own to include a few FA pieces needed like say, a vet FA MLB.

Also, I just want a competent professional QB in here that can inspire others and win a reasonable amount of games. We simply do not have that on our roster as you well know so whatever that QB looks like, let's get him in here. JG is my preference but I would settle for Mariotta, Pickett and a few others to be that guy.

Dont want to give up draft capital for any qb. I do t think the redskins can afford it, frankly.

I’m glad that RR is happy with the depth of his team, but they sure as hell didnt perform like a team with a fuckload of depth down the stretch, especially losing 4 of the last five all divisional games.

If sherff is leaving, then find and sign two good replacements for him for his projected salary. Good bit players can be found around the league every year.

This past year, for example, the skins signed their future left tackle, Charles Leno on the cheap, as well as deandre carter, who we all want back, RSJ who was fine, bobby mcclain, who they want to resign, and at least 1-2 other olinemen who I am forgetting.

Sherff will net a third round comp pick next year.

Draft a qb and sign a free agent is the obvious play.

if we dont sign too many free agents we should get a 3rd round comp pick

they could always backload the deal. I wouldnt do it at the money you are talking about. If we cant get Carr then we pick qb at 11.

Tried to post the podcast but it wouldn't let me. Said something about not being published yet.

Anyways, forgot to mention that Keim said Austin Hooper has not lived up to the contract and if the Browns cut him, he might be someone the Skins look at.

It's crazy that we swung big on Cooper and Hooper and missed on both and now the teams they signed with over us are trying to get out if those contracts.

I have a feeling Rivera the GM and his Carolina cronies might end up getting Rivera the head coach fired.

I realize Scherff is a FA likely to command upwards of $20m per season. Payne likely $8-10m like you said. Its a whole lot of money anyway you spin it.

I agree with #4.
One of my biggest concerns now is, after the senior bowl...we won't even have a shot at Coral or Pickett.
Hoping we try again in the 2nd round, Ridder could be a steal

Grap hasnt shown to be any better than TH in both playoff games this year. Why trade anything for him? The niners need to do something at qb, so let them figure it out and pursue other options in the meantime.

On that last drive it was quite apparent when the 49ers got near FG position Kyle did not want to put the game in Grap's hands.
