Jones had 51 yards and 1 of his touchdowns in the 4th, he never really had a garbage time because Hoodie kept running the ball through the game, long after it was over.
I personally don't think garbage time starts before the 4th Q. That being said for it to be garbage time you need the teams to play like it. I don't think Mac Jones had garbage time because Belichick is so unique as a coach. The Patriots final drive was 15 plays. 8 runs, 7 passes. He clearly did not want meaningless stats, he wanted solid execution to end the game. The Eagles ran the ball twice(non scramble) in the entire 4th Q. Siriani wanted those sweet sweet meaningless stats. I am not one to judge on that, it is 70% of Stafford's career.
I might be reading it wrong, but I think only 2 of Hurts runs are considered scrambles. Which would mean 15 called run plays. Only 2 in the 4th. Still not a lot of runs. All of that is a fun little side note that does not tie into your initial question. Which was why did I only look at Hurts garbage time. That answer is the same. Jones did not rack up yards late because Belichick if anything went more conservative at the end of the game. Hurts put up his only points and half his yards after the Bucs had already mentally gone home.
To be fair, who is going to be the best in the group does not say that any of them are going to be good.
Murray has a lot of very good days and Jones will probably become a consistently solid QB. Both are flat-track bullies. Hurts will be an NFL back-up because he's slow in processing information. He'll be streaky, which is ok for a back-up.
pretty much why he was projected as no sooner than a 4th round pick.
