Making a move for Westbrook is an all in for 2021 year. He is a declining player who hasn't exactly shined in Los Angeles.
I think that’s an awful fit for him. He needs the ball in his hands and so does LeBron. We haven’t seen Russ paired with anything like Embiid. I think they can compliment each other well…as long as they don’t kill each other haha.

Yeah, the lakers aren’t getting Simmons in that deal either

Harris Simmons
Coming back
Westbrook and Harrison Barnes

Westbrook Curry Green Barnes Embiid is your starting 5. Bench would be:
Maxey Milton Thybulle Korkmaz Niang and Drummond.

If the Embiid Westbrook pick and roll pairing with Curry Green Barnes shooting around it can be as strong as I think it is, they can compete for best in the East and then who knows

Just need to keep the reigns on Russ a little tight.

People are a little out of context with him because of his contract and his slow start.

This season he is averaging 19.5 ppg, 8.6 apg and 7.7 rpg while splitting ballhandling/playmaking duties with Lebron.

His percentages aren't horrible either. His field goal percentage is 45% (44% career), his 2 point percentage is 49% (2nd highest of his career), his 3 point percentage is 33% (2nd highest of his career), his eFG percentage is 49% (2nd highest in his career). His turnovers are a little high at 4.6 (4.1 career) which isn't horrible. They're more noticeable though because a lot of them are of the "WTF?" variety. lol

He does pretty well with AD when they are on the floor together with no Lebron.

The big problem for the Thunder is can they bring in enough talent to keep SGA happy when he hits FA? This is always the problem with Tankapalooza. He isn't going to care that the Thunder have 12 1st round draft picks in 2025.

He just signed a contract

I just don’t think when a guy still has 5 more years on his deal that you can worry about such things.

And when he signed this past summer he knew exactly what the thunder plan was. Would have been different had he signed when cp3 and dennis was there.

Zero question SGA can be built around.

I disagree.

There are maybe 6-8 players in the league that can be built around.

I know you love your OKC boys, but SGA is not getting there.

He can be a big part of a contending roster to be sure. But Batman?

No, sorry. There are definitely questions there. In fact, I don’t think he can do it.

Less about numbers and more about his fit. Plus the team defense overall is bad so that also reflects on him. His shot selection at times is what it is…he just isn’t the need we or the FO thought they needed. I said from the start Hield was a guy that fit better even if it was an overall downgrade. Harris is a better fit but unlikely RW gets traded imo, you never know though. Shit happens

I think you mean 6-8 players WE KNOW can be built around. That being said, we know he is a great player or a bad team and that doesn’t mean he can automatically be built around but I do think he has the skillset. Assuming that’s what he means.
Not saying SGA is Booker but we all had the same questions about Booker too

But trading him for a guy who we don’t know if they can be a robin?

That is also not a step in the right direction.

They could’ve gotten two lottery picks plus for him if they traded him this summer. I get waiting, I think he’s more of a robin. But if you have enough robins you can win it all, see a team like the raptors.

Even this years heat could be that with butler, Lowry, bam. 3 betas, zero alphas, but that’s enough for a title. Or at least a contender

6-8 at any given time.

Might he get there?

It is possible. But I am betting no.

I didn’t say it was.

Just commenting on the SGA pushback.

No way I deal SGA for Simmons if I am OKC.

But I do think last years Simmons before the playoff debacle is at least as good as SGA. And as has been mentioned, yes I also believe Simmons has the higher ceiling, but also a much lower floor.

I like the idea of Presti getting him with SGA.

That size for a backcourt is ridiculous. That's the start to a position-less basketball team.

I see the guy play every game. He is currently holding back on his own game to try to build with some of these guys. There is no one in the league that can repeatedly get to the rim as easy as SGA makes it look. The more he gets around him the better he will be.
