well..mariners..also..have..julio................who will..be up..and trammell....if winkler ..gets tired..and..he can always..LHDH..so

Jesse Winker is 2nd in the Major Leagues with a .346 Batting Average.
Adam Frazier is 6th with a .325 average, Jared Walsh is 7th with a .321 average, Michael Brantley is 17th with a .305 average, and Joey Wendle of the Rays is 18th with a .305 batting average.
I guess it was July he struggled in batting .241 for the month and only a couple of homers. He did bat .371 in August with 3 homers so he came out of it pretty fast.

    RELATED NEWS

According to MLB.com's Jon Morosi, the Mariners are among the teams that have checked in on Reds starter Luis Castillo.

Reds GM Nick Krall told reporters earlier this month that "we must align our payroll to our resources and continue focusing on scouting and developing young talent from within our system," which suggests that a couple of high-dollar players could be on the move. Castillo is set for a substantial raise via salary arbitration after pitching to a 3.98 ERA with 192 strikeouts over 187 2/3 innings (33 starts) in 2021. He'd probably flourish in Seattle's more pitcher-friendly environment but is also fit for a range of other clubs.

You nailed this one. I think the same exact thing and that would be one more comparison to Olshey. Both love themselves more than they love anyone else. Pricks.

I replied to a tweet regarding this same thing. As a move? Yes. As the move? No.
On the bright side, two different people from MLBTR predicted Kris Bryant to the Mariners. I'm sure I'll be severely disappointed but I think he is exactly what we need if we don't pursue a trade for a third baseman or sign one of the more coveted middle infielders and move them to third.

The Mariners need to make a splash at 3B and/or 2B, ideally both but that's a bit overly optimistic. I like Toro but I really see him as more of a utility guy.

Here is a hot take: I would trade Kelenic for Bryan Reynolds. I can't remember if I posted this here or texted a friend about this idea.

I'd probably feel differently if Kelenic didn't struggle so much this year, but Reynolds is an established centerfielder who doesn't hit free agency until 2026. I believe Kelenic's ceiling to be roughly what Bryan Reynolds currently is at. Kelenic is four years younger, but at least we wouldn't have to wait for him to figure things out.

One thing I hope that Dipoto leverages in contact negotiations is that Washington currently has no state income tax.

I know I can't help but bring up Kris Bryant again, but when it comes to negotiating with him we are at an advantage because California has an income tax of 12.3% on individuals earning $599k or more a year.

MLBTR projects Kris Bryant to get a contract of 6 years $160m. A 12.3% tax on $160m is nearly $20m.

Best year in some time, but all is not good and fuzzy on the coaching side. 4 new coaches in, 2 out.

You talking crazy!!!! LOL. I get your point, but I am greedy and would like both. When you have a valid MLB player at the same position, you don't have to count on the rookie so much and you can just let him grow at his own pace.

i would think about it..as well...cuz..mariners still have lewis...he could Lf..so could fraley..so no probs....but one..Bryan Reynolds.

value..is thought ..to be..85 -100..now..the mariners could prob make the 85..it would take almost every trade chip they have..

and some they dont want to get rid of..............

...that is the reason..i trade marte..in..simulation.....i really only need..for example...

the cinncy trade..winkler....and a starting pitcher..and that is a possible savings..25..to..30 mil...depending....

and i could....dunn..for..a 5th..or 6th guy...i could go lodolo lh p..at AAA..or mahle..but i would mabe trade mahle to okakland..for lhp

the prob when i trade marte..is ..i need to replace him....cuz..the mariners are already..shy..a ss at modesto.....so that takes up most of the space..

of value.for marte......and then some..but he is the only chip..they ..have..really...and jedi..says no way on ..him....soo
