Its like every throw from TH. They should be used to it by now...
I know right!!??

It's modern day football or as we say around these parts, "get your receiver killed, gain 15 yards for hitting a defenseless player!" SMDH!!!

I’ve seen quite a few clips like that on Heiney. Is it the crossing pattern itself? Is it a ball speed thing? Or a late thing? Also, the high balls Heiny often throws leave receivers in a super vulnerable position as well.
IMO ... it is several of those things. I don't think he understands pre-snap where he has an advantage. Most good NFL QBs do. So he takes a while to make the read, on that one video by the time he comes off to go to McKissick the defensive player had closed on JT. His arm is not strong so it takes additional time to get to the receiver and then he is often off target just enough to open the receiver up.

This all goes back to "maybe they found a diamond in the rough" ... TH had a lot of chances and was not kept for any length of time by any team. A fair amount of his big plays are when he extends plays effectively enough for receivers to get open. Like I said before I think he might work as a backup but not as a starter.

First things first......Broncos is code red.

Heinicke was hotdoggin at the goal line and it cost us seven points. He throws high, misses wide open guys because he locks on to his intended target. Some regression there. Love him as my backup.

I stated last week Gibson might not be an every down back. I think he can be, but we will have to be patient while he learns the position. Blitz pickup, protecting the ball in high traffic areas and balance. Intrigued by the Kerryon Johnson workout. We'll see.

Leno gave up a sack fumble. He's been good for the most part, but like Heinicke, he's not the long term answer.

Until McLaurin starts catching balls with his hands and stops dropping big passses every week now, he's not elite. He's not an issue though.

Missing Logan

Allen is having a monster year. Ioannidis flashed and Settle can play. I known I'll get run for this hot take, but is it out of the question to at least see what we could get for Payne or how many spots we could slide up the draft board if we made Payne available? I love the guy. I know I'm gonna get hell for that take. Just being completely transparent.

Davis was over drafted, but he's not a scrub.

Landon looks so much better in the box and coming off the edge. Makes you wonder if he's willing to do this moving forward, do you keep him.

It was alarming to me how much we DIDN'T miss Jackson III. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Looked at his cap, we are stuck with him for a while. Hope he improves. He's going nowhere.

BSJ! I like!

Danny Johnson knows how to tackle! It's amazing to see a competent open field tackler in a burgundy and gold uniform.

Now that Danny Johnson is free. Free Everett and Reaves.

Nice to see Hopkins get picked up, but Blewitt kicked it into the endzone and was solid last week.

Tress is a beast.

You can feel the honeymoon period is over with Ron and JDR. They have to find a QB and I was pleased to see he is getting weekly updates on that.

If they lose Sunday, they might as well lose the rest.

Thanks for that excellent explanation. It always makes more sense when I read your breakdowns of things. And ya do it in a way that doesn’t make me feel like an idjit too :)

This is a good post. I am about 85-90% in agreement. But even so I think you have a good read. I like our DTs better than our DEs and some might think I don't have a clue.

Amazing that they D didn't miss Jackson isn't it?!

That Lambeau Leap was so stupid. I did not like that. If you are going to kick the other team in the nuts you better not miss and kick them in the thigh.

I am not convinced that his issues arent correctable with more game time . Lots of young qbs don’t see the ball field well , are high and late .

I do think he is a BU and I think if you are thinking about making a run at the playoffs then maybe a mobile , bigger , better armed Allen is the ticket

I agree that many young QBs do not see everything. Making a decision is one of the biggest things about being a QB though and I feel like TH is slow at ... the same as I felt about Griffin. You have to process information quickly and be decisive.

The DTs have been fine. We are not getting gashed in the run. Just waiting on Chase at this point.

We go back to the ESPN days.
I didn’t realize that! Those threads went so quickly I couldn’t keep up, lol. I remember Dan Graziano and his NFCE blogs were hilarious!

I think Chase has the talent, now it is time to show and not just believe it.

To be clear, there are QB's in this class who can and will be at least like Carr, if not better, they just don't grade out well enough to be top of the first round selections. (one or two will anyway) They also will require time and patience before being thrust into being the starter.

What's interesting is looking at them soberly as one would when evaluating a team. Of course it must be done sans the desperation that needy teams and their fan bases often have when the question is QB.

I just don't want them to reach. I'd rather them bite the bullet and wait if they don't like a guy. If they like Pickett or Morrell take them.

I just don't want Ron to make a pick because he's on the hot seat and he feels a rookie QB will buy him time.
