I am encouraged by what happened last night. Not that I expect Philly to win a ring or anything, but I am encouraged by the development of Tyrese Maxey. He is going to be the starting PG on this squad going forward. Simmons just got Wally Pipp'd.

Maxey is more of a traditional lead guard. If he can hold down the one for 30-33 minutes a night it frees you up to deal Ben for an asset. Personally, I would want a 3 and D guy who can be the team’s 2nd offensive option. As I was saying earlier, I have no idea what Ben’s value is around the league in a deal.

I think Ben's value in a deal is way lower than fans think. You would never get a legit #2 scorer for Ben Simmons at this rate. We will need to do an Al Horford type of deal where we unload him on someone and give up picks to do it.

“I have news for Philly fans, the GMs of the other teams watch the playoffs very very closely,” Lowe said, via Blazer’s Edge. “And there are definitely teams that I have talked to in the last 48 hours who were once in on Simmons, who say, at lease to me, it could be posturing, “eh, we’re a little less in than we used to be.”

I think it matters who he gets paired with. Different teams will value him differently. And coaches always believe that they have the stuff to help a guy make the talent and production click. Ben is a unicorn waiting for someone to dig in and unlock him. Some people may like the idea that he’s only 25 and may develop into that guy. People fall in love with skill sets all the time. Sixers likely won’t get value off this playoff but they should be looking for a piece that fits with Embiid and Harris.

I hope you are right, that someone out there will think they can fix Ben Simmons and trade good assets for him. But after years of watching this guy NOT IMPROVE ONE FUCKING BIT, I am ready to move on as a Sixers fan. He has not improved his game in any way since his rookie season. So I am not going to buy into any bullshit about him working on his shot this offseason, etc. We hear it every fucking year and he comes back and plays the same way, refusing to shoot, bricking FTs, etc. I am done with this fraud.

I also think the whole cliche of “change of scenery” thing in sports is real for a lot of guys. Simmons could be a Jermaine O’Neill kind of guy. Comes in young with a skill set that he doesn’t unlock until later in his career. Ben is more likely to evolve into that guy elsewhere at this point. I will say that I have trust in Morey to find something after what he did to get rid of two deals and bad fits in Horford and JRich and finding perfect complements to Embiid’s game.

I think you’re underselling him. You don’t need every team to see the value in a Ben Simmons. You just need to have 3 or 4 and from those 3 or 4 a cooperating roster that fits things you need.

I don't think too many teams will want a mentally weak "star" who is set to earn $170 million, doesn't shoot in the fourth quarter of playoff games and has a worse FT percentage than Shaq. He's been exposed.

Draymond + the 14th pick this year?

I don't care about Draymond, I don't think he would be a good fit for Philly skills wise. But, yeah I would do that shit at this point.

To me, the trade partner for Simmons will be a rebuilding team that can take on his contract in exchange for picks. An OKC-Presti type of team.

Nah

I think Ingram was a fair mention. Someone like that

He's drunk

But damn that free throw pct is murdering his trade value. He's like DeAndre Jordan and Andre Drummond from a few years ago bad right now.
That was kind of my point, Philly fans are too mad to see straight on Simmons. But as you say, the FT thing makes an offer like that almost plausible.

I don't think the Ws would ever trade Dray, Klay, or Curry though until they are ready to truly blow it up, perhaps when Curry retires.

You think they deal Weisman at all?

That's obviously in play for the right deal, he's a chip for sure. But they might have enough with a starting 5 of Curry, Klay, Wiggins, Dray, and Wiseman, with Poole and others off the bench. They can trade their firsts for bench depth.

But there's so many conversations and plans going on we don't know about, I trust their front office to make good moves, as they have pretty consistently.

Should've dealt Oubre. Lol
