Lmao
Positions matter less than they ever have before.
If Embiid and Jokic were on the same team, do you think they would split minutes?
Of course they wouldn’t. The coach would find a way to play them together.
They were the 2 best players in the league this season. They should both be first team.
Positions aren’t even really a thing anymore.
It would also lead to fewer snubs since you're simply choosing the 15 best instead of worrying about positions
At the end of the day, the All NBA 1st team designation has no value if Joel Embiid isn’t on it. It’s absurd. He was clearly one of the five top players in the league this year. “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds” - Ralph Waldo Emerson.GM would not look to put them both on the same team, especially in this era, so that's a bit of non-starter as an argument. Neither can defend smaller, more mobile players. Every other discussion about positionless play is to the detriment of the center position, so it is a bit interesting that now we're arguing two centers on the first team.
Positionless is a big talking point, but it's largely a myth. Teams will occasionally play small (without a true center), but that says more about the dearth of quality centers IMO.

Do guys get our differently if they’re first or second team all NBA?
is that normal?
Inclusion in any all NBA team is a trigger for supermax eligibility.
He'd be #3 behind James and AD....and a player who fits.....
Kuzma is a player the Thunder could use (he plays defense and scores a bit) and KCP is signed through 2022-23 and they could flip him to another team around the deadline if they choose to. A contender that wants a shooter and defender.
Just saw it.....LOL.Too late, traded to the Celtics for Kemba and a 1st essentially.
Just saw it.....LOL.
Hell the Celtics had Horford at a much better age. I really don’t know know how much I like this for the Thunder either, although it was clear Horford was not part of their plans. Brown is a big body but he isn’t very skilled away from the basket. But this does give the Thunder 36 draft picks in the next 7 drafts.
This is….an awful trade
Kemba had... a really awful contract:
This is….an awful trade
Embiid wouldn't have made first team by the voting system regardless of position either. He was 6th in total voting points:
Giannis: 500
Jokic: 498
Curry: 496
Doncic: 402
Lillard: 372
Embiid: 352
5 pts for a 1st team vote, 3 pts for a 2nd team vote, 1 pt for a 3rd team vote. It's a media vote, just as flawed as the MVP vote that you're basing the snub on. 100 members of the media voted, and 99 voted for Jokic as first team, with 28 voting for Embiid as first team. Clearly, there were voters that had both on the first team.
Kemba had... a really awful contract:

What did you expect?
How the hell did Al Horford all of a sudden become a non-terrible contract?
He is not expiring. He becomes a FA same year as Kemba.
That is an awful lot to give when swapping well past prime players.
Not sure how OKC keeps pulling this same trade off. Crazy.
