I knew it was massive, but holy shit...

We are only on the hook for 27.5m next year (not counting buyouts)

Dominic Leone will be a free agent at the end of this year as well (per BBRef).
Of those you mentioned, Posey, Flores and Cueto have options for 2022. Jose Alvarez will also be a free agent with an option for 2022.
Also, Darin Ruf is still under control through 2023.

SS - Dubon
3B - Longoria
Util - Vosler
Util - Estrada

OF - Yastrzemski
OF - Dickerson
OF - Slater
OF - Duggar
OF - Tauchman

i expect Posey and Craw to resign. I think there is a decent shot Gausman and Disco resign. We will also likely get AT LEAST 1 big name FA, probably 2.

Does your source show Ruf being a free agent this offseason?

Agreed on all points. My WAG on the 2022 Roster:

C - Buster, Bart
IF - Craw, Flores, La Stella, Dubon, Vosler, FA
OF - Dick, Slater, Yaz, Duggar, Wade
SP - Gas, Wood, Disco, Sanchy, Long
RP - McGee, Alvarez, Garcia, Brebbia, Moronta, Rogers, Baragar

AAA - Tok, Casali, Canario, Castro, Davis, Delaplane, Doval, Estrada, Littell, Beede, Menez, Nunez, Santos, Selman, Sherfly, Tromp, Vosler

I think all those guys will have options...

I think the roster will be much more shaken up than that. Particularly the rotation.

I think we also need at least 1 new OFer, which might be Ramos.

I don’t expect Bart to be a backup, unless you see Bart and Posey doing some kind of C/1B platoon. If that is the case, I think Casali or Tromp will also be on the team.

I am not sure they bring Flores back. Unless they sign some other big names and want his flexibility at a discount price. I have just not been overly impressed by him. He plays a lot of positions, but he doesn’t play any of them particularly well. His bat is OK, but not enough to carry his glove.

You see a Longo trade? For what?

RE - catcher: I think they really like this "no 3 days in a row" rule for Buster. I'd expect that to continue so his backup would see significant time behind the dish. The only question I have is -- in September if the race is tight and Buster's hitting .320 do they try to give him one start a week at 1b vs. a LHP? Long way of saying Bart would be in a good position to back Buster up in 22; and yes, I could see Bart getting some starts at 1b as well.
RE - Flores: He'd cost $3.5 to pick up the option. He's versatile and generally has good ABs. I could easily see FZ deciding that's good value.
RE - Longo: My bad. Sub him for Vosler, who goes to AAA

Good arguments. Flores is a “FZ guy”, so maybe he gets some roster love.

Some interesting names you highlighted there. You don't think Posey will slide over to 1st base, at least 3 days a week, next year? He cannot claim to a full time catcher anyway. Why not get more playing time?

Sandoval barely plays right now. I cannot see any team signing him to even platoon next year.

DeShields is still in the minor leagues, correct? There were rumors last month the Yankees wanted to acquire him for their injury plagued outfield but never did. And man! That's an old group of free agent outfielders.

Interesting. BBRef is way off on him.
Just a guess, but they probably get their FA status from a calculation, and that calc may not count his time in Japan as service time.

To be fair, I am not certain how time in Japan counts towards FA status, though...

I was pretty liberal with my highlights. And I wasn’t necessarily highlighting players I thought they would target as a starter. And I agree that it would be surprising if they signed Sandoval. FZ doesn’t have a sentimental bone in his body.

I don’t know how they proceed with Posey. They need to sign him first, though, so assuming he will be on the roster is premature (though I do expect him to be around next year)

God damn people want to shit on Posey even with the year he's having? Dude can catch 110-120 games next year. He can DH too in AL parks (and potentially NL ones if they make the change) and play some first.

I am 100% happy with whatever overpay is needed to keep him a Giant for life.
