That may be true. Not unlike many Seahawk fans when it comes to running the ball.Clayton is a fossil and probably dies on the inside anytime the Seahawks pass the ball

Gallant on 710 ESPN?Clayton is a fossil and probably dies on the inside anytime the Seahawks pass the ball
A lot of those are dumb reasons to not trade for julio jones. Really John Clayton is worried that the receiver we drafted in the middle 2nd round wont get enough playing time and the pick could be wasted? Or that Lockett wont like Jones being the 2nd highest paid player on the team and Metcalf will ask for jones money when his contract is up? Those are all stretch reasons the only decent reason is what will they do about the cap.Clayton says not so fast for a Seahawk trade
He and Gallant make a couple valid points. Cap is always an issue. Adams will be coming up as well as Metcalf. The Hawks have more pressing needs like D and Oline. Carrol wants to control the ball with a run game.A lot of those are dumb reasons to not trade for julio jones. If you are a playoff team trying to get to the super bowl there is no bad reason to acquire Julio Jones unless what was given up was too much.
When Metcalf is due for a contract Jones contract will expire, going into the 2022 season assuming we don't even cut anyone we have like 50 million in cap space. The offseason is over whatever needed to be addressed for any team its done now its all about getting ready for training camp. If you are a playoff team in the NFL trying to win a super bowl getting Julio jones would be a great idea. Every year you are a contender you need to put forward your best product. You cant have a QB 30+ year old QB and worry about salary cap 2-3 years from now, super bowl windows aren't open forever. He and Gallant make a couple valid points. Cap is always an issue. They are valid reasons.
You avoided Adams coming up. Holes in the current D and Oline. Could Seattle still not upgrade there and improve their chances of winning? When Metcalf is due for a contract Jones contract will expire, going into the 2022 season assuming we don't even cut anyone we have like 50 million in cap space. The Adams contract coming up isn’t really a huge deal. The cap is going to explode next offseason because of the new contract and Bobby Wagner’s contract will be coming off of the books with either a cap casualty or he will have to restructureYou avoided Adams coming up. Seattle also lacks depth which has always been a concern and problem.
I hate almost everyone on 710am and value almost none of their opinionsGallant on 710 ESPN?
Gallant: Why a Seahawks trade for Julio Jones would be a mistake
The Seahawks are reportedly interested in Julio Jones, which would give them a great WR trio, but Paul Gallant sees issues with the idea.sports.mynorthwest.com
Patriots have almost $16M in cap space. They can afford JJ easily. And he said publicly that he'd like to play with Cam.None of those teams currently have $15M+ available in effective cap space. Some cuts will be needed, unless Atlanta takes back salary (which doesn't seem likely, given their need to drop cap).
His best season was in a Shanahan offense so it might be the best fit.Kansas City doesn't belong there, ya don't mess up Mahomes to Hill
Julio would get pissed in Baltimore for obvious reasons.
Love to see him a Niner. Doubt best fit however.
This is a hmmmm?
Why would Wags be a cap casualty? He's signed through 2023? He may negotiate a new contract? Which would make sense considering the cap is estimated to be $208M. Adams will take a nice chunck of that. Don't forget other teams will have additional cap $ to offer guys like Adams driving his and others prices up.The Adams contract coming up isn’t really a huge deal. Maybe this is why he hasn't signed anywhere yet? Atl will have to dump him sooner or later and teams know that.Personally, I don't see any team being a good fit for Julio. At least until Atlanta gets reasonable, everybody is out of the market!
Because Wagner isn’t the player his contract says he is, and the Seahawks drafted his replacement last year. Other teams will have money for Adams for sure, but he is going to resign by the opener. Why would Wags be a cap casualty? He's signed through 2023? He may negotiate a new contract? So you think Seattle will cut or trade Wags? I didn't look up how much that will cost them? They'd have a hard time justifying he hasn't lived up to his contract? His numbers are consistent. If NE wasn't set at LB I'd take him. One of my favorite Hawk players. I don't have many as you know.Because Wagner isn’t the player his contract says he is, and the Seahawks drafted his replacement last year. He has a 20 million cap hit next season. If they trade/cut him they can save 16 million. Not saying the Seahawks would do that.So you think Seattle will cut or trade Wags? I didn't look up how much that will cost them?
Clayton is an idiot who thinks a $22M cap figure means the player is being paid $22M per year.Clayton is a fossil and probably dies on the inside anytime the Seahawks pass the ball
Everyone likes Wagner but $16.6M looks pricey. He has a 20 million cap hit next season. If they trade/cut him they can save 16 million. Not saying the Seahawks would do that.
Who throws a better long ball than Russell Wilson, and Jones wants a contender, yep, Seahawks!
