Why would NY be interested in Gallo and why do we think we could get a big haul for him?

They've had injuries if I'm not mistaken. No one in their right mind should expect a big haul, in my opinion.

Exactly. Can't put a lot in what some of these writers think.

From Scott Lucas:

In 2017, Cole Ragans struck out the most batters (87) in any of Texas's 18 seasons in Spokane and was named the Northwest League's best prospect by Baseball America. In March 2018, he underwent Tommy John surgery. In May 2019, he endured a second surgery. He would have missed most, if not all, of the 2020 season irrespective of the pandemic. Injuries don't delay Rule 5 draft eligibility, and he went unpicked after being left off the 40-man roster. (Texas did protect him in the minor-league phase of the draft.)

Pitchers have overcome multiple Tommy John surgeries to reach the Majors (Pete Fairbanks, for example), but under his circumstances, I was uncomfortable thinking of him as a prospect or even thinking about him at all, other than simply hoping that he could stay healthy. Now, after beginning the previous start with 13 consecutive outs and facing one over the minimum last night, Ragans is transitioning from feel-good story to legitimate prospect. Ragans still employs the fastball-curve-change trio, and the heater is running mostly 92-93 per various reports. Pitchers with one wipeout-quality pitch can dominate at this level without much backing it up. The same applies to pitchers with tricky or exceptionally deceptive deliveries. Neither example applies to Ragans. He's just an ordinary pitcher, which in this instance I mean as a compliment.

Back in 2017, Ragans was unexpectedly wild, walking 35 in 57.1 innings, but in 2021 his freebie rate is less than one-half the league average. Batting average is down and strikeouts are way up in 2021, but even relative to these new levels, Ragans is performing well. 20.2% of his pitches have resulted in swinging strikes, highest on the team and fifth in all of high-A.

The guy who writes those articles isn't to be listened to. Anything on nolanwritin.com should be considered as one very optimistic fan's opinion and nothing more. He has some off the wall stuff on there at times.

Holt and Culbertson probably have a better chance of being traded than Gallo.

@saddles how's the 2022 draft shaping up because we're going to have a top pick in that.
Lol. Right at this moment we would get the 4th pick, but by the end of the day we could move up to third. We are two games better than the worst record right now, but falling fast. Imagine what will happen if we do trade Gibson and Kennedy.
