Because sweeps are so easy to come by lol. Outside of the A's during that long win streak, Can you even give me 2-3 teams that swept 4+ series this year?

German since he came back from AAA allowed 8 ER in his 5 starts.

Monty been really good with the exception of 2 of his starts vs Tampa.

The fact that you only named Chapman from the pen guys show how little you know. They have the 3rd best pen ERA in baseball but sure all of those guys outside of Arolis look sus

Green and Loaisiga ERA both under 2.5
Well at least I know that you're happy with our record right now and where we are statistically.

4th lowest runs scored in the AL, bottom 10 in the MLB.
6th lowest BA in the MLB, 5th lowest in the AL.

Yay, we have the best ERA in the AL, we're still not a good team. Cole is the only safe spot on the rotation. Chapman and Luetge (forgot about him) are the only safe arms in the pen. Chad Green is good, but not consistent. Just last week he cost us the game against Houston.

4 teams in the majors have swept 2 or 3 series this year. Boston (1st), Oakland (1st), LA Dodgers and St. Louis (1st). 3 of them are at the top of their division right now so yeah, we need to start sweeping series and not just against the crap teams like Detroit. We should be sweeping teams like Baltimore, Texas and Minnesota. We can't sweep Baltimore and we'll see what happens against Texas and Minnesota in the next month. By this time next month, we should have at least 4 series sweeps. Let's revisit this in a month.

Monty been really good except against Tampa?

Houston - 6 IP, 8 hits, 3 ER
Cleveland - 4.2 IP, 4 hits, 3 ER
Baltimore (4/29) - 5 IP, 5 hits, 2 ER

So 5 of his 8 starts have been trashed, yet he's been really good? I might have high expectations that I gotta lower, but I think you gotta raise yours up a bit.

That Indians & Houston start were both solid. Nothing special but solid enough where you can win the game.

If you think 6 IP and 3 ER is a bad start then I don't know what to tell you

I believe that, depending on the score, any starter that leaves the game without a lead is a bad start. 3-3, he isn't winning us the ballgame. 0-0, 1-1, that's different.

If 6 IP and 3 ER isn't a bad start than what is? Let me throw out some examples. Is 4 IP, 3 ER a bad start? How about 6 IP, 4 ER? If that's not a bad start, how about 5 IP, 4 ER? How about 3 IP, 5 ER? Those are all stats that he's put out in 5 of his 8 starts. 5 starts allowing 3+ runs.

So you want you starter to basically allow 0-2 runs in every start? Got it lol

Sorry to break it you but all of the starters won't dominate the game as Cole does.

Monty performs like the back end of the rotation guy he is. If Sevy comes back and is fine then Monty won't be starting in the playoffs

Not every start, no. But certainly not in only 3 of his 8 starts. 3 starts allowing 2 runs or less, 5 starts allowing 3+. I guess we have different definitions of "been really good".

Times like this is why @DirtDirtDirt doesn't like him.

Solid end of rotation guy but that's it

I think Devi has the higher upside with less propensity for total meltdowns, which Montgomery has had maybe 3 times already

I know they like the idea of a lefty, don’t know why considering most of the league bats righty, but zero confidence in that guy

While we are at it, I am so glad that Arauz who has what like 1 career home run was trying to jack one out of the park in the 9th when all he had to do was get a single and the game would have been tied

Aaron Judge the last 2 weeks:

.333/.429/.714

4 HR over the weekend vaults him into a tie for the MLB lead.

@DirtDirtDirt Your “teams on the verge of being swept” parlay would have worked yesterday, too. Kudos to anyone with the balls to play an Orioles/Angels parlay yesterday. Must have paid a ton.

Nothing pads the stats like a few games against the O’s pitching staff. Especially in Camden Yards. Not just for Judge. For everyone.

No doubt, but he's been taking a ton of shit from the fanbase this young season. So much so you wouldn't think he was OPSing over 1.000

I don’t bet baseball but I have a buddy that has always said it’s the best money making sport, and the sweep avoidance formula is something he always kills it on

and it’s really a hit when a team you would consider very good trying to avoid the sweep

Credit where it’s due, he’s crushing everything in sight

Lemehiue racking up multi hit games

Stanton with a bad oblique

things are normalizing
