I don't agree that they need to start over. But I do agree they need a significant change. I think if you can get Seattle to take JvR/Voracek/Ghost and you sell Laughton/Raffl, you create some cap space to change the make up of the team.

They've got 62.7M tagged for next season. Patrick, Sanheim, and Hart are RFA's, but with the seasons they've had I don't think you're spending more than 8M on those 3 guys. So you've got 11.5M with 12 fwds, 6 dmen, and 1 goalie. If Seattle takes JvR/Voracek, you've got 18.5-19.7M. You could spend 8M on Dougie Hamilton if you wanted to (Pietrangelo got 8.8M for reference). Even if Seattle takes Ghost, you still have 16M and could spend 8M on Hamilton.

I also think you have space to put a blockbuster out there. Could you trade one of TK/Farabee/Sanheim plus a high pick or prospect for a guy like Filip Forsberg? Or what does it take to get Matt Tkachuk out of Calgary who is in a similar "need to change things" situation? Or do you to try sign a reclamation project in Laine who I can't imagine is looking to re-sign in Columbus with the way his career is tanking there. I think they have options to re-shape the forward core without getting rid of everyone.

I think the Flyers have enough talent on the roster, and enough pieces in the "futures" toolbox to re-shape the NHL squad and get it to contention.
Please, not Tkachuk. He’s too big of an asshole to even like him as “our” asshole

Lol. There's only so many guys that fit the 'skilled but play a tough game' that I think we all agree the Flyers need. The Tkachuk's are two of them, but Brady's not going anywhere.

York officially assigned to the Phantoms today. They play Saturday and Sunday this weekend, so he could make his professional debut.

You will be happy with what you see. He is good on both ends of the ice.

True. I'm just waiting for guys to start getting traded away. Give me picks at this point.
It's crazy the streakyness of this team. They played a sloppy first and we're rewarded with some luck an then played a solid 2nd and 3rd. Only to lose in OT? Other then the BS Csizikas fake act or Morin is just monstrously strong, either way was another bullshit call. I like Morins attitude though.

At least they seem to have stabilized a bit and aren’t getting embarrassed every other night. That’s a nice change.

Exactly it if they had a decent start it sure would help but they come out like dogs every game. A few changes on D and a solid forward addition would definitely help. It's not like these other teams are that much better when Philly comes to play of course. Just a piss off that they didn't even tread water this year instead took 20 steps back.

Perry the scumbag hammered DeMelo tonight and not even a call then you see Morin push a guy and gets 5 and a game. Unfortunately the Flyers bias lives on completely ridiculous. Kid can't even get out there the refs are on him giving him no chance.

Pretty amazing we never have anyone to step up during the shootout.
Weve been bad a shootouts for so long i just assume the loss at this point. Gee had the game on his stick the last two shootouts and failed to come up big.

You know its the same old story. We never play a 60 minute game, Morin cant be that strong he just pushed the guy and he dove into the boards like he got shot.
