You and @DJ will appreciate this being fellow foodies. Gonna make my own pastrami. Takes a couple of days to make. Shooting for Sunday for it to be done.

Now that sounds awesome. Make sure to give an update once it's ready.

Whatever offers they are getting now,

They will be less in a year if he sits out.

What I am saying is that they are trying to save face by playing hardball. And it isn’t in their best interest to do that.

Like the Spurs saying they wouldn’t trade Kawhi to LAL no matter what.

Well, had they traded him to LAL, they probably get a better return that fits their next window AND there is a chance Kawhi would have left LA in free agency and really screwed them.

Teams who worry about petty stuff only end up hurting themselves
You are offering baseless opinions. Because I and others have said they could play hardball as he has no leverage we don't know they are playing hardball. Has anyone told you about an offer they made for Watson? I doubt actual FO people care much about saving face when it comes to irrational, emotional fans (not saying you) or media opinions.

I typed in- 1981 H.S. basketball recruiting class. According to basketball.realgm-.com MJ was Parade 1st team All American his sr. year.

But no doubt that kinda stuff happens a lot. Look at Larry Bird. He started off at IU. Years later Bobby Knight admitted he made some mistakes with Bird when he let him slip away to Indiana State.

Sure.

Lots of politics though.

Also, there is a very limited number of scholarships in basketball. If a team has 3 scholarships available in a given year, they are often seeking specific skill sets with those spots.

If they need a PG and 2 bigs, they aren’t recruiting a 6’6” wing from North Carolina.

Stop with the hypotheticals.

Yes. 100% for sure teams have made strong offers for DeSean Watson.

But don’t play this game “of you don’t know”.

Yes we do know. Everyone knows that Watson wants to move. Many teams need QBs. And common sense dictates that teams would inquire about the best, youngest QB who could potential be available.

If Houston wanted to trade him they could get a great deal done tomorrow.

Houston’s public stance is that they aren’t trading him no matter what. Maybe that is posturing for better offers. But if it is their real stance, then they are even more foolish than I thought.

It's not about his leverage, it's about the Texans leverage. He doesn't have to have leverage to hurt what the Texans can get for him. He just has to keep insisting he'll never play for them again.

They'll likely still get a sizable haul for him, but not what it could be if this were handled better/quieter.

It's similar to AD going to the Lakers. They got a good return for him...but how much more could they have gotten if it didn't get out that he wouldn't re-sign with anyone but the Lakers?

No disagreement....but wasn't it Watson who first went public about wanting to be moved? He has even come out publicly and doubled down on his demand.

Seems odd to blame Texans as that would mean Watson would be reason they did not (or would not) get the best offer.

I think Greedy Williams must read this forum and he's talking to you, @Stakesarehigh

all seriousness, what a huge help it would be to build this team if they are confident Greedy and Delpit will be back and will produce.

You are focusing on a small, relatively inconsequential part my point to create an argument.

The point is clear. If Houston is truly intending to “not trade Watson no matter what” they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Haha....We mostly agree on our stance and I have said as much, but you start an argument after each of my comments because I am not 100% on board with your opinions.

And, it's true, Houston might be shooting themselves in foot because - AS WE BOTH AGREE - the best alternative is make a deal.

My ONLY stance on the topic that really is not debatable (but you debate) is IF Houston wants to play hardball Watson has little to no leverage. Please note the "IF"

Now go ahead and argue with me while telling me I like to argue.

I am not arguing that point.

What I have said, albeit not necessarily in the most direct way I should have is that Houston is incredibly stupid to play hardball.

In this scenario, the only way they win by keeping Watson is if he changes course. And that isn’t likely, IMO.

No disagreement there. to not even consider a deal would be nuts.

I'm sure you are the reason for his efforts.

all seriousness, It is comical to me you think a guy would choose to take a year off in a sport without guaranteed contracts when he's never gotten a huge deal.

It's an end around. If he took the covid opt out I don't believe he gets paid. If he pulls some unsolvable nerve issue he does.

Its humorous to me you think guys who are capable of terrible things wouldn't do something like that. I mean... not terrible but why can't Josh Gordon get his shit together? Why would a guy not make millions?

A drug problem compared to nerve damage which doctors confirm?

A stretch even for you, my friend.

There are tests they run that show muscle weakness FYI. I mean, when he played he played decent and showed promise. Not like he did this to hide poor play. Luckily he comes here and his goal seems to be to prove himself to you.

I've seen absolutely nothing confirmed by anyone except Greedy.

Just today saw stefanski acknowledge the guy with the Achilles is doing great and "yes I saw greedy"

I'm not buying it. That's great he is coming back. The browns need him. Now he can stfu and go show everyone why he was at one point a top ten type draft pick

"We are confident in both guys," Berry said. "You never know with significant injuries how that ultimately unfolds. But the one thing I can tell you about Grant and Greedy, the way that those two have attacked their approach to rehab, staying engaged with the team and really they've prepared every week as if they were going to play, even though it became obvious that they weren't.

"I'm very optimistic, very bullish on their physical recovery and then ultimately when they do get back being able to play at a high level for us."

"Those two individuals deserve a ton of credit because that's not easy to go through when in Grant's case you're a rookie, in Greedy's case you're in your second year, it can be discouraging when all you want is quick progress and that's not necessarily happening," Berry said. "But I think both those guys have done a phenomenal job with their rehab, and certainly we look forward to having them in 2021.”

That's it for me whether you can buy this or not. Go Browns
