And they have bottom 20 drafting OL issues.

Meaning the good ones are usually gone.

German Ifedi is a classic case of this. SOB couldn't go a game without a False start or Holding.
NE routinely drafts later than the Hawks and BB has found a way because it has been a focus.

WR not so much. He has sucked there.

Saints drafted Ramczyk 32 so it is very possible to find good OL late round 1

But this is the point I'm trying to pound in @DJ head...

At what cost?

Think of it this way....

We address OL. Great....

We lose in the Wild Card because we couldn't in Murray's face and he found Hopkins beating our Double coverage....

Then what
The transformation of the defense the second half of the season was a welcome surprise but also something that should continue into next season with pieces already in place. Now that doesn't mean don't draft defense but I think the FO can start with o-line help first than move onto the defense. Yes Seattle will be drafting mid rounds but there's plenty of playmakers in the mid rounds if scouted correctly.

Agreed.

BB is a master at finding late and undrafted picks superstars.

Granted not all have been hits but just the oline he had Andrews and Kline. Here's a list of others.

You have to do your due dillegence. Lots of players picked later have made huge impacts. But it doesn't happen over night. Seattle hasn't drafted well and giving away picks has/will likely hurt.

I'll use the BB method. He routinely goes into the draft with double digit picks. Knowing there are no guatentees even in the first round. Trade some of those picks for future picks if the value you put on players aren't there.

The downfall as a fan is he ends up missing out on a lot of sexy picks. But his record speaks for itself wouldn't you say?

That's the problem, Seattle has missed on picks more so than hits over the last few years even with trade backs and gaining more picks. Frustrating. For sure, BB has never needed sexy picks to win.

Are we to believe that Russell Wilson is not in the top 10 of "Time to throw" stat every year?

By creating time to throw. He certainly has never had the luxury of having time to throw in a clean pocket consistently.

This is definitely part of it. He's not as quick and elusive as he used to be, so he needs to rely on having better blocking these days. We'll see the same with Mahomes in the next 5-6 years. You can't bail 15 yards backwards and make NFL pass rushers miss forever.

Wilson for Watson straight up. Watson is a diva but at least he can see over the lineman to throw a 5 yard pass.

Was waiting for someone to post this. I watched all the Hawks games and there were a LOT of sacks that were either because of a) Russ scrambling or goofing around in the backfield, or b) the scheme where the only target is apparently supposed to be 30+ yards down the field.

Seattle had a lot of sacks that were a result of nobody getting open because all Seattle knew how to do was check down passes or deep bombs (5-10+ yard passes didn't exist in that offense). Once NFL defenses wised up and started dropping 2 deep safeties every play, Seattle basically went full derp.

Seattle's OLINE protection was actually pretty good. And they haven't been ignoring it. They traded for Duane Brown and resigned him, they've drafted multiple 1st rounders in Russell's career and spent 3rd/4th rounders, etc. Just most of those guys were whiffs. Sucks but is what it is.

Man, Russ is making some comments that warrant some attention, he’s never done anything like this .... He threw the offensive line under the Bus and then said he wants more say in roster moves ...

Here is one .....

I don't see anything that has Russelll throwing the OL under the bus. Not one sentence even. The media, in this case LaCanfora are reading imminent consequences in remarks that really are him just answering the questions the media is putting to him to "create" some drama that doesn't exist. LaCanfora "notes frustration within Wilson camp" that a example of what I'm talking about, that's not RW they're quoting, it's not anyone actually, pure horse shit made up by him. They do the same with other QBs, think we have all heard the media play up Aaron Rogers "unhappiness" with the Packers. Yet these teams routinely kill inquiries from other teams about trading their QB and the QB hasn't tried to force a trade. It's the media, they need drama and if it isn't there, then they manufacture it by asking questions designed to get answers they can grab and run with, turning them into something the QB wasn't conveying. I've seen these "stories" in the past seasons about RW and they always turn out to be baseless.

When he say’s he’s not being protected, he’s throwing them under the bus, trust me it’s gonna create resentment ... Imagine if you were part of that O-line.... They’re gonna comment, probably say get ride of the ball sooner ... He’s always so positive, this might be the first time he’s done anything like this ... Also saying he wants to be more involved with personnel decisions... Pete and John are probably like .... Huh ? My feeling is he’s really nicely throwing gentle jabs to create a trade snenerio .... My gut is talking, and I’m not always right, BUT, I have a feeling, just a gut feeling the Seahawks might be open to something ....

I am so sick and tired of Russell Wilson and I really think him being married to Ciara thinking himself to be this celebrity is so annoying. I wouldn't be surprised if this "camp" is just Ciara trying to move to a bigger market. Before they signed that extension with Seattle they were all ready to pack up their stuff and go to the Giants.

If you are a QB eating up 30% of your teams cap you need to stfu about not getting help. Brady took pay cuts to help his team win. If you do not want to cut into your salary it is up to you to close the rest of the gap. It was not the offensive lines fault you threw a pick 6 against the Rams in the playoff game. You have 2 pro bowl WRs and a pro bowl left tackle and got out played by a QB with a tore up thumb. Stop bitching and complaining about how you get sacked a lot and blaming others for your lack of playoff success since Marshawn Lynch and the LOB left.

I agree with this....can't have it both ways

Seattle did not play well the last half of the season and Wilson was a part of that. He should keep his comments in house.

On Good Morning Football today RW said and I quote "He's frustrated getting hit too much" he then went on to say something like all QBs dislike it.
Is that throwing his protection and or coaches under the bus? Certainly up for discussion.
