The actor playing her brother is not the same actor in Ultron. My question is are they really trying to bring Pietro back into the fold but cant cast the original actor or is this part of the plan to look like a recast within the 80s tv show? Didn't quit get why hes a different actor yet..

When talking about the MCU, you can bet your life that everything is planned. It's definitely not because they couldn't get Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The first 2-3 episodes are just setting the show. It's getting involved in much more of the overall MCU in 4 and 5

She tells Vision "that wasn't me" when there is the knock at the door as Vision was starting to think how someone conveniently arrives whenever a distraction is needed.

I don’t think it was a 100% joke. I think it is more of an acknowledgement that it isn’t the MCU Pietro. Anyone in the MCU would not recognize him, and in context, it would appear to be a recast. But it ISNT a recast, in actuality.

Well that Quicksilver IS dead. She saw him die. I don't think you can bring him back.

When she saw him she didn't know who he was at first. When she said his name it was kind of a question.

A theory a friend mentioned is that she needed a distraction in her world and her brother had been brought up, so she summoned Pietro. Since MCU Pietro is dead, her powers reached into the Multiverse and the Fox version is who she pulled in. Like everyone who is brought in, he's currently brainwashed into being her Wandaverse brother, but will probably crack too when her attention is diverted again.

Good theory.

She was able to bring Vision back since he was recently dead. M-Pietro had been dead a long time, so his link to the living universe was further away than X-Pietro. Her magic-magnet simply grabbed the closest “Pietro”, and that happened to be the X-version.

The actor is the Pietro / Quicksilver from the Fox X-Men version of the Marvel Universe, rather than the Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe. That's why the ending scene was such a HUGE deal that is being talked about not just in this thread, but in general entertainment news: it's the first domino falling from Disney's acquisition of Fox, leading to widespread speculation that different continuities/universes from the Multiverse may be merging, particularly given that this show is a prequel to the upcoming Doctor Strange 2: In the Multiverse of Madness, and that Disney is going to eventually be introducing mutants and the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I mentioned that, but that wasn’t what I meant. What I meant was that she would introduce Mutants into the MCU, and that they never would have existed before, but that she would rewrite history so that they did, in fact, always exist. A convoluted theory that I actually don’t like, but I had seen it proposed elsewhere before.

I think it's worth it if you're a fan of the MCU storyline or if you plan on watching any of the films going forward.

Plus they're short episodes. The corniness in those 1st 2 is lessened as the season is progressing.

This. I struggled through the first couple episodes, but once the MCU plot actually comes into focus it feels a little more worthwhile.

Still having a hard time with it though. Not really that gripping, and just generally weird. Basically watching an I Love You Lucy spoof about a chick & a reanimated corpse. I mean I understand the plot angle, but wasn't she displayed as more in the 'acceptance' stages of grief during Stark's funeral?

I suck at making connections to previous movies in the MCU, but I'm pretty sure the Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) character was from Thor? I kind of blocked out all those movies prior to Ragnarok. And the Rambeau chick is the daughter from the woman in Captain Marvel? Any others I missed?

That’s what makes a large shared universe fun. Not just the massive crossovers (Avengers and Captain America movies), but the “sidekick” crossovers as well (all the Netflix shows, WandaVision)
