Take your bullshit pessimism elsewhere, we are celebrating and should be celebrating this move. We got rid of a bad contract of a guy or breaks under pressure while leading the NFL in turnovers, and upgraded at the most important position with someone that can beat you vertically, who won't have a dumbed down playbook.

Angels Lakers Rams is good people. I get the frustration over lack of 1st rounders. And the big contracts. What He doesn’t understand is the the plug and place system at DE/OLB. That AD makes whoever is in that position a better player and have great years. That the Rams will find another guy like Floyd or Fowler next year on a 1 deal that makes them perform then get another 3rd round supplemental pick.

People - remember when we would start looking at draft choices after week 4? Hell that was what 6-7 years ago? Those days are gone and if it means trading some picks to go all in during this window of opportunity then so be it.

They said Mcvay spent the past few weeks looking at QBs available and Stafford was the guy. Not sure how much of that is true or what but Detroit was likely the only place for this to happen so we should all feel lucky imo.

I am guessing now Mcvay is looking to find another DE/OLB on a 1 year deal and he knows we need a thumper at ILB. A young WR with speed is probably in the works via draft and he’s probably also looking at drafting a QB. Stafford probably on a 2-3 year deal and at some point Mcvay finds a guy via draft.

And these are most likely late 1st rounders. The Rams have shown they can find similar talent in the 2nd and 3rd rounds at times. That’s truth

Rams have (4) 1st rounders, (2) 2nd rounders and (3) 3rd rounders invested in Goff.

had they waited one more year, they could’ve drafted Patrick Mahomes with the 5th overall pick they traded to the Titans to move up and draft Goff.

thank you Jeff Fisher and Snead for that nightmare.

A lot of teams coulda drafted Mahomes. And yeah Fisher was the blame for trading up to get Tavon and Goff. But it’s over and Rams are moving forward

I was always a Goff fan(especially after the disaster we had with Bradford)... However his bad reads, missing open receivers, slow release and lack of pocket awareness finally caught up to him. I thought he could fix these things but he never did.
Once he was paid the big bucks it seemed like he thought he made it and was done having to grow. Great QB's see it the opposite way, you pay them big bucks, they work harder.

That’s too many picks for Stafford but my guess is they are just trying to move Goff and that contract. Should open things as far as cash.

WOW, I just missed all the news by minutes of my last post. Just been way too busy with work, I hate Januarys, glad it's over......

But yeah Junkie, I'm pissed off.

Pissed off they traded up for Goff in the first place.

Pissed off they extended Goff early.

Pissed off they paid Goff that huge ridicules contract.

No plug and play here with the Rams my man. I expect more stupid stuff like this where the Rams had to beg, and I do mean 'beg' teams to take multiple No. 1's plus and trade for an aging QB with a huge cap hit himself, who wont be here any longer than the picks they had to trade to get out from under the crappy deal they so gleefully got themselves into.

And some of you can say Goff doesn't get the Rams back to the SB, and the Rams defense will carry them through with a guy like Matt at the helm, but some of you need to ask yourselves, would it have made a difference if the Rams had Stafford under center in Green Bay for this years playoff game?

The Rams need to look back and start to evaluate how they approach signing their future FA and FA, until then it's just as SJ puts it all the time Ground Hog day and not a day to celebrate.

That said however, I am looking forward to Matt the gunslinger chucking the rock around and the Rams just went from odds finishing 3rd in the Division to odds now finishing 1st.
