And yeah, it is a total head scratcher why they would trade LeVert for Oladipo.

You have yet to say anything counter to my point. LeVert clearly has more value because of his contract status.

i would’ve kept levert. Houston banking on him being that guy he was pre knee surgery

And also banking on resigning him.

Which early indications are that he wants to explore free agency.

yeah. There’s some value to having bird rights. Bottom like is Houston can now offer him more money than anyone.

so if they want him he’s probably not leaving. That being said, I’ll take levert and the extra cap room.

What I said was perfectly on target.

For a normal team to beat a well orchestrated super team like the Warriors, it usually takes multiple series altering injuries.

You don’t think that classified as difficult?
Of course I do. As I said to someone else, that was a 3-peat for the Warriors had everyone been healthy.

It seems to me that the Rockets were primarily focused on having salary flexibility. Not sure why though. You know what teams have salary flexibility? Bad teams.

I'm not as concerned about the Levert/Dipo trade. Levert is a nice player but he's not an all-star level player. League average 3 pointer shooter. He has brief stints where his shot is hitting and he looks great but then regresses to mean.

Not sure why they moved on Allen. Maybe because he doesn't have a great fit on the team right now? Hard to say.

Seems like the Rockets have set them up for perpetual 6-9 seed basketball.

idk how Allen and wood fit together.

they took an extra first and basically hope that Holliday leaves and/or Giannis tears an acl or Achilles

Allen isn’t anything special.

But he is young and a solid rotational big. You just shouldn’t ever give away players like that for what Houston returned.

they got a first for him rather than pay him 17-20m for the next 4 years. Plus they dumped prince as part of it. So basically 2 firsts for him (since it would normally cost a first to dump prince’s deal).

if you don’t think that he’s capable of playing with wood, I get it

Allen isn't likely to ever be an all-star but he is a starter level player. So, yeah, I don't get why they traded him for what they got.

I don't have a problem with dealing him.

But what is the point of clearing all this cap space? The FA market next season is going to be lean and there are going to be a bunch of teams with money and questionable playoff hopes. IOW, a bunch of Rockets like teams.

Yeah, that is a fair point.

Trade value diminished by impending restricted free agency.

The thing about Allen is we don’t know how good he can be...so to say he isn’t anything special means you are predicting the future. Still very young. He has great numbers on limited minutes. He has improved his post game already.

15 and 14 shooting 67% from the field ain’t bad especially if you sign him long-term on a good deal.

Honestly, he could be a perfect fit with the Cavs bc he doesn’t need the ball in his hands and the Cavs have stretch 4’s that are floor spacers.

He is a big man without a ton of ball skills in a league dominated by perimeter players.

He is a good solid player. But unlikely to be a star player. Upside is an above average starter.

That is valuable, but if you are looking at paying him 15-20 million, those contracts don’t normally end up being bargains.

But all I am saying is that in terms of trade value, LeVert has a lot more than Oladipo right now.

So they messed up. Because they should have gotten a pretty decent second asset along with Dipo to make up the difference.

The return on both LeVert and Allen was very underwhelming. The return for Harden was outstanding. But the subsequent trades lost a decent chunk of the Rockets’ equity.

So, with LeVert's health issue now in the equation, Indiana could be the big loser in this trade. That health issue had to have been known at the time of the trade, correct?

Can't see how not. I think the Nets sold them a dream but all the while knew about the repairs needed. Scummy move by Brooklyn but maybe karma will get them in the future with them having 0 1st round picks for 8 years.

If the Nets don't win a title in two years then they're screwed. Like, insanely screwed. Any potential for a 2021-2027 good first round draft picks are GONE.

Doesn’t seem like it was since it was discovered in the post deal physical.

Possible it was known by LeVert and New Jersey I suppose. Highly unlikely it was known by Houston and not Indiana.

I think we just became best friends. I've seen 2 comments from you and I fully agree with both of them.

Yup.

Honestly I’m shocked the feel didn’t fall apart.

well, at least the hou/ind part. Who knows if Houston does it without dipo.

That's why I think it had to have been disclosed; why else would it still stand?
