From our end I think this is what it would take to beat the competition for Watson, if it comes to that.

First a very positive conversation between Rivera and Watson. Rivera telling Watson he's gonna be the MVP of the league like Cam was and he will get him to the SB the way he did with Cam.

He won't have to carry the team. The defense will do all the heavy lifting. We are gonna put Samuel or bring your favorite target Fuller with you through free agency to put opposite McLaurin.

Now to compensation.

Payne, Allen, or Ioannidis (Texans choice)

Maybe that does it.
If I'm the Texans, I take Allen, turn that 2021 1st into more picks looking to the year after when I have yet 2 more 1st rounders. That's a haul.

The Redskins landing Watson would be a nightmare and I am sure no other NFC East would want to see that

DeShaun will take a kings ransom. A couple firsts won't do it.

Miami can lead with Tua and the third overall. Beating that would take a major haul

You could make that argument for any NFC East team really. Though from recent events it looks like Philly is going all in on Wentz.

Word I'm hearing though is if DW demands a trade. It will be to Miami.

if we have learned anything from the Griffin debacle, it should be to never gut your team for one player. He is an injury away from you having nothing. I don’t care how good he is. This isn’t the NBA where a lebron James can lift up the other 4 guys to a championship.

Part two of the lesson was the 4th round pick. The HC didn't believe in the 1st round pick made by the owner either. Clearly as late as a year and a half ago that lesson still hasn't been learned.

i don't recall everything with the hopkins trade and the Tunsil deal but from what I do remember, it was something you only type up in forums to make conversation, something a GM would never do in real life, so......with that said, its a possibility to land Watson....ok let me stop lol

No way Miami gives up on Tua this quick. Fitz did his job with Tua in Miami.

Let's be clear on something about being a HC on any level especially the NFL. The great ones are not coaches, they are teachers and as such are able to take what's given and make the best of that. The job has nothing to do with who he "believes in" but rather or not he's capable of taking the talent that he has, and meshing it into a highly productive product. That's the job!

Far be it from me to be accused of being a Dan Snyder supporter, but this notion about there being some connection between who drafted whom and bad outcomes has got to stop. If we're honest, then let's admit that at best it's an excuse for bad coaching, personal gripes between owner and head coach and an disorganized vision of the direction in which the team is supposed to be headed. Baltimore drafted Jackson and totally adjusted their way of doing things based on personnel, to great success. In the professional ranks, hiring a HC is the ultimate act of symbiosis, without that connection you ultimately fail, and worse, cause those in your charge to fail.
