I'd offer Carr (only has 2 years left on his deal), 3 firsts and a 2nd rounder or 2.

Three firsts and a second rounder (or 2!) for Carr, eh?
Sure thing, Raiders fan.....sure thing!
A steal!

Stop playing in a dream world. If Jamal Adams is worth 2 first round picks the Warson is worth 4 first round and 2 second round piks. He just signed a new contract and the cap doesn't start taking a hit until 2022.

The Boston media heard that Watson wasn't happy with Caserio and has spoken with owner about the next Head Coach. They said that it came from NBC Sports Mike Florio. The pats have a ton of cap space in 2021 ($82M) and 12 draft picks. No way would Belichick mortgage the future for any quarterback.

Watson is one of the top 5 and is young. Houston took severe backlash for trading for Tunsil (2 Firsts) and trading away Deandre Hopkins. They ain't trading Watson. They said it publicly today. That's like saying We want your car, house, boast and first born male child.

I think Rivera bought himself a good 12 months with the division championship.

According to local media, behind closed doors Dan is in the fight of his life to retain ownership of the Skins.

The last thing he needs is another bad PR hit based on the football side of things, especially after the Haskins fiasco.

Rivera, Smith, and the playoff run are the only good press he's getting right now. He needs Rivera right now. Plus he was essentially Joe Gibbs' hire. We all know how Dan feels about Joe.

My biggest concern is WHY AND THE HELL are they treating Kyle Smith like he's a dirty dish rag.

I'd hate to see Bethard 2.0

Cooley swears Kyle is the McVay of our front office.

When you say Beathard 2.0 do you mean showing Kyle Smith the door?

Yeah, it was a hellified thought, but yeah, back to reality.

the dominance of the d/line makes this defense work at a high level . weakening it like that makes it less so .

now can watson work with thomas and our WR corp ? because somewhere a need wont get addressed if you have to strip the resources to get needs then there is another issue

so i go back to this , patience , look for the right fit and dont go for the big splash unless you can . signing some one to an expensive contract and giving up resources as well isnt a good idea to me

The dominance of this defensive line has been without Ioannidis. Settle is used sparingly. I would suggest we would be just as good without any of the four interior linemen. All these guys were here; however, the DL wasn’t dominant until Young came here.

Watson works with his receiving corps, which isn’t that good,

I get that; however, giving up one DL which we will lose anyways, and a first which Watson would easily be worth would make sense. That being said, Houston won’t do 60 million in dead space.

A trade for Watson would kiss goodbye to the DLine as we know it. No way you can pay him $40 million and keep those other guys.

How many draft picks/players does this team give up to find a QB that can play.

How do you reconcile letting a 4th round QB go for much less money (still a lot but not the same amount) when both guys have similar stats and W-L records. Some folks are saying Watson is top 5 but the 4th round draft pick is just a guy. This team just can't stand to do anything that works, nor can many of its fans. :noidea:

Even if the rumors are true, and I have to emphasize that almost everything that I've read or heard about this are rumors, the cost is going to be enormous. Thus far 3 firsts, 3 seconds and a player, yet, I'm still interested. I'm not sure is I'm willing to pay that kind of price though.

As I told you, I like Watson A LOT, but not that much.

what did we get in those drafts without those picks ? research that and see because be able to build through the draft will be key
I thought that Rivera changed course and is in a win now mode! Are we back to rebuild now?

All sings are pointing to it. Reports are Kyle pitched a fit in front of Dan and pushed himself up from the table when it became clear we were drafting Haskins.

Rivera seems like he wants one of his Carolina guys to run things and all other reports are that Dan is looking at R. Smith and Mayhew.

Why all the talk with Smith in house?

To me this is the biggest story that no one is talking about.

Watson has a no trade clause which means he could basically pick his spot.

we should avoid knee jerk reactions . i have seen the run at big names that turns into urine . its interesting to talk about watson but i really can see a path for us because other teams offer much better situations

No way in hell I’d give up what it'd take to get Watson. That’s just crazy talk. Draft a qb every year till you find the guy

I just see no way that Houston lets him go. The league knows how hard it is to find a top notch QB. The will take care of him with a new contract that will make him the highest paid QB.

I'm not sure that Houston will set new precedence by tearing up the newly signed, months old contract in favor of one that makes him the highest paid QB.

Deshaun Watson signs 4 year, $177 million contract extension with the Houston Texans Saturday, September 5, 2020 HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is now a part of the team for a long, long time. Watson has committed to an agreement that keeps him with the Texans for the next four years.
