I agree but that should have made him even more motivated, if not to show him he can play but other teams that could be interested in the future. I guess he has no pride or competitiveness, is what I get from it. Just as an example, Baker would have taken that like a major insult and worked his ass off to get that job...sometimes you have to earn respect even if it isn’t fair or you aren’f given a fair chance. To me Haskins just gave up, not the qualities you want in a future QB imo
I think being in the general area he is from was a negative and not a positive.

I’m not sure what Urban thought specifically but I thought he said he should have stayed in college one more year

Now there's no doubt he should have stayed an extra year. Immaturity won't get you very far in the NFL. Personally I didn't think he was ready to make the jump. Started only 14 and appeared in 22.

If he gets another chance he better change his ways and be thankful for another opportunity. Haskins fucked up. But I can kinda see why he didn't care. Rivera wanted nothing to do with from the moment he took the job. Putting him on the inactive list at one point. Even if he hadn't gone out partying with stippers his time in D.C. was already over.

He was put on the inactive list because he was demoted to 3rd string.

Nobody keeps 3 QBs active unless 1 is used in other ways, like Taysom Hill.

It sounds like Rudolph is starting Sunday, it was confirmed today. Still gotta hope the Browns are healthy and play their ass off. I dont care who is starting, no guarantees in this league

@Wamu @WiggyRuss @Stakesarehigh @dtgold88

Browns gotta take care of business on Sunday. That loss to the Jets was a bad one. Hopefully the wr's will be cleared to play. And with Rudolph starting the media will of course talk at nauseam about what happened last season.

That makes sense. But Haskins wasn't going to be part of the Washington football team no matter what next season anyway. His dumbass actions just made it easier for the team to get rid of him sooner rather than later.

Very well put. I heard something last week that even Urban questioned his maturity before the draft. Is that true? If so that should have been a red flag for any team.

They were talking about that this morning. Urban was apparently directly asked "Is Dwayne Haskins ready for the NFL?" and his response was "Eh, not really". The person talking about it said an answer like that usually means maturity issues.

It'll be interesting to see if any teams are interested in Haskins this off season.

Dude. He is an epic bust.

I was right.

Get over it.
Over what? I was right too. I'm just not patting myself on the back for it as on this one you could be right without ever even seeing Haskins play (and I saw all his games).

I'm curious to see if the Bills try to win (i assume they will) against the Fins.

Id have to think they'd also be motivated to keep themselves lined up with a game against Cleveland or Miami as opposed to Baltimore if the standings somewhat held. Obviously if they beat Miami they face the Colts though so maybe thats less attractive.
assuming you already heard Steelers sitting Big Ben.

Not so sure teams would want to play the Browns over Bmore as teams who can play D have come up with plans to stop LJ in playoffs so far. Get a lead on them and it could be game over. Browns can come back if down by a couple scores.

Not involved in that but I'll still own that I was wrong about Josh Allen (though realized it before this season). Still not sure he'll end up better than Baker but sure looks like could be the case....thinking, though, we might be 12-3 if we had their defense.

Yeah, I think once he lost the starting job the writing was on the wall, but I do think he could have earned another chance had he played better AND not been a moron.

Nobody wants to give up on their 1st round pick less than 2 years after drafting him.

But if he doesn't get another chance he has nobody to blame but himself. I can't remember the last time a player was stripped of his captaincy like Haskins was.

Just once I wish Ohio State could put a productive QB into the NFL. Maybe someday.
I don't think a lock he goes as high as once thought, but Fields will get a long look from someone. and if not him, the type of QB Day wants compared to Meyer, I think one of his highly ranked QBs from this season or the next few has a shot as well.

Were my comments not right a year or two ago, he looked awful and lot of people thought the same. Yes I was wrong but he’s had the greatest transformation in NFL history. How many guys do you see change their entire throwing motion and succeed? You never see that, you could call his tranformation a miracle. I will gladly be wrong consider his odds. Good for him
