Yep energy guy, hardworker. He wasn’t getting anything lower than that full MLE.

It’s like people didn’t watch him at all in all those years with Lebron lol. Sure, he wasn’t valuable against some of those Warrior teams but extremely valuable in most matchups
one of the blurbs from Lloy'ds article at TheAthletic about Thompson today:

Thompson was involved with a number of memorable postseason battles against the Celtics, but Cavs fans should appreciate what he meant to that championship team in 2016. There simply would not have been a parade without Thompson. He was the third-best Cavs player in that NBA Finals series behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. His ability to guard all five spots and his ferociousness on the boards caused major problems for the Warriors. It goes unnoticed now, but Thompson didn’t miss a shot in the last two games of that series.

He was highly valuable in those Warrior matchups because he can guard pick and roll.

You're underestimating him, imo. He's a guy who can defend from the paint to the 3 point line. He's an excellent pick and roll defender. He's an elite rebounder who gets a lot of offensive boards and he'll get you 10-12 points per game without having a play called for him.

He's exactly the type of player a title contending team needs. He'll do the dirty work, play hard and keep his mouth shut. Plus, he's only 29. So he's still got a couple of years of his prime.

He's a guy that I was really hoping the Lakers would try to get.

he’s rated pretty low in some of the analytic and projection systems.

taxpayer mle would’ve been more than generous. Now Boston is right at the cusp of being able to afford bog in a sign and trade

He wouldn’t be in Boston right now if they offered him that. Meh, stats and analytics are invaluable with a player like TT. There were some games he had 2 points and 12 rebounds but he affected the game dramatically with his perimeter defense, hustle and heads up plays you would not see in the box score. Top offensive rebounder as well-2nd chance points is always huge

Browns have the harder remaining schedule
kinda of--- but the Browns do have Jville, the Jets, and the Giants. They just win those 3 they are at 10 wins. Say they win 2 out of those 3.....then if they just win 1 or 3 out of Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Tennessee.

I think the Browns, currently 7-3, probably get to at least 10 wins. I think they should probably win 3 out of Pittsburgh (last week of the season where Pittsburgh might not even be playing starters), Tennesee, Baltimore, JVille, Jets, Giants.

The Raiders are 6-4. They have Atlanta, NYJ , Indy, LA, Miami, and Denver. Say they win Atlanta, Jets, Denver fairly easily- (though like i said with the browns- i expect them to win JVille, Jets, Giants- but no guarantee on any of them).......Indy, Miami, LAC arent bad teams.

It should be pretty close. I could see both teams finishing at 10 wins. That would be my prediction- though i think the Browns have a better chance of getting to 11- esp. if Pittsburgh doesnt play thir starters the last week.

Picking up Marc Gasol was vital. That was great. And now they've got a little more cash to up Kief's salary. If they can get him back, Lakers will have had about as great an offseason as you can get. Assuming they get Kief, I think they'll have 1 more spot left. I'd like to see them get a guard or wing. Marco Bellinelli, Ronde Hollis Jefferson, Kyle Korver or bring back Dion Waiters. Though it would be pretty damn cool if they could make some room to sign Pau and let him play his final season a Laker with his bro

Much much harder schedule

I don’t think the Steelers will go undefeated.

But, the Chiefs also have a fair shot at running the table because they are just that good.

So if the Chiefs are 14-1 heading into the last week, Pittsburgh won’t be able to rest starters. Only 1 seed gets the bye this year.

Not sure who has the tie breaker.
