you think that the B16 will get the HUGE increase of money, many have speculated pre-covid?
They wouldn't kick Ohio State out.
But couldn't they just claim they are playing 10 OOC games since the B10 canceled all their conference games?
The problem I see for the B10 is optics here:
1) sue a school that is trying to get it's players some publicity for the NFL (what college does best).
2) or let the players choose for themselves if they play in the fall by asking the NCAA to allow them to transfer with immediate eligibility.
I say the best thing the B10 can do is let Nebraska play in the fall, but tell them they get no money if the conference plays in the spring.
They already do "schedule games against other teams"
Every Big 10 team "schedules games against other teams"
They schedule 3 of them outside of the Big 10 conference schedule.
They get their conference schedule from the Big 10 offices and schedule 3 more games in open weeks.
The Big 10 has had ZERO problems with that policy EVER.
.
Who says they are "pulling out of the conference"?
The Big 10 is not providing them a schedule of 9 teams to play.
Are the standard 3 OOC games "pulling out of the conference"? No
Does the Big 10 assign those 3 OOC games? No
Could Nebraska or any other team schedule those OOC games during a buy week of their basic Big 10 schedule? Yes
There had better be something in the Big 10 statutes regarding 'cancellation of the conference schedule' and that a team must also cancel it's 3 OOC games.
If there is, so be it. Then I'd support the Big 10 on it, and Nebraska should indeed stay home.
If there's not, and the Big 10 sues, then Nebraska should seek other games, litigate, and ask for attorney fees.

Ohio St wouldnt be dumb enough to try it.
A key point is that the BigTen did not CANCEL fall sports, merely postponed them.
There won't be a spring football season other than spring practices and a scrimmageSo is there a guarantee that Nebraska and other schools will get the tv money if they cancel the spring season?
I think I have a better chance of dying from Covid than the B10 playing a spring season. If they are worried about the health and safety of the players, having 20+ games in 10 months will likely be a major concern...and also a disadvantage when playing teams from other conferences in September that would have had a 7-8 months rest between seasons compared to the B10 teams that would have played a few months earlier.
Is Nebraska going to play football twice in the same academic year? What happens when the BigTen starts their schedule in the spring and Nebraska has already played?
GORs expires in 2024 and that's when the TV rights get renegotiated and it was forecasted that they could get close to 60 million a year for each school

If they did, then it would contradict Frost's own statements from yesterday.
He's against playing in the spring 2021 and fall of 2021.
Fall of 2020 and spring of 2021 would be no different. His point would be null and void.
The Big 10 releasing a spring 2021 schedule (right now) would would be their best move to put the kibosh on him.
They may do that.
