BTW Nebraska.. you ain't coming back to the Big12..

"Not in the plans" does not mean what you said.

Nebraska does not want to come back to the Big 12 anyway. They'd probably like to schedule some OOC games with some of them. That is not the same as "coming back".

There's no guarantee in anything. But choosing to abandon the conference's plan for a spring season will mean a lot of financial pain for the Huskers.

More than the $50 million they lose if they don't do a spring season? (obviously, you can see I haven't thought it all the way through)

A key point is that the BigTen did not CANCEL fall sports, merely postponed them.

That is certainly a stickler.

However, the Big 10 needs to come out with schedules for Nebraska to adhere to. i.e A Spring 2021 schedule.

At this point there is nothing but a fall 2021 schedule for teams to adhere to.

All Big 10 teams have erased 2020 schedules from their websites.
They have no schedules for spring 2021.

It is unlikely a schedule will be released before the end of September. And the conference doesn't need to. Nebraska is bluffing to appease their fanbase.

So they lose either way...they either try to recoup that money now, or risk officially losing it in the spring, and again, I think the chances are REALLY high they cancel the spring too.

Oh well, these sports programs will live without the $50 million from football.

Of course Warren cited no Big 10 contract statutes that would support his assertion.

Contracts are not made up as they go along. They are agreed to and adhered to as written.

The contract would have to be amended to include statutes regarding cancellations of seasons. That would only apply to going forward. Any contract statutes pertaining to 2020 are already written and agreed to.

How are they going to recoup the money? The BigTen OWNS Nebraska's TV rights.

Which again, makes it key, that the season was not cancelled, but rather postponed.

If they got kicked out they would be crying.. it's all about the money for corn fans

Stop being simple minded and letting emotions control your thought process.

Nebraska can't be "kicked out" of the Big 10 without violating a previously agreed to contractual statute.
The Big 10 would be sued out their asses.

By partnering with Nebraska as they do some out of conference games? The Big Ten is not the majority owner of the BTN, they could let the majority owner make the call.

I think that amount is likely. If Nebraska leaves, not only are they losing out on that payday, but also a substantial exit fee in order to get their GOR back.

Kindly cite where Nebraska says it's "leaving the conference".

Stop ad-libbing.

The TV revenue goes to the conference, not to Nebraska.

If Nebraska plays fall football, they aren't going to play spring football.

Whether they release a schedule or not makes no difference. The conference's intent to play in the spring is clear, which is all that will matter from a legal perspective.

No it's not.

You got spring football schedules vs opponents?

Stop ad-libbing.

The conference announced their intention to play in the spring. This has been well-reported.
