No way Petersen would have gotten his ass kicked in recruiting like this.

You think so? I honestly don't know if that would be the case coming off the season we did and all of the other factors that impact recruiting. I do really hate to say it, but even coming off of a strong season it's difficult to fight off the likes of Ohio State, and even Oregon.

I mention Oregon because of the success they've had the past decade and the fact that coaches subtly express that after the completion of their degree; "there will be a multitude of job options as our alumni highly value former student athletes." Which is a subtle way of saying that you can major in underwater basket weaving and Nike will employee you upon graduation.

I'm beating a dead horse, but UW doesn't recruit (as dirty) as some other programs. Unfortunately that means we will be at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting.

Recruiting Roundup: A Look At The Offensive Recruiting Board

I found this interesting:

"Right now it sounds like UW will take 2 receivers and if I had to pick I would say that UW will be able to close Egbuka and land Nunnally (it sounds like the Huskies have cooled on Tinae and Alexander)."

I don't know how well connected the writer has but this was surprising to me. All I've heard is that Egbuka is a Ohio State lean and I don't know why the Huskies would cool on Tinae and Alexander, especially considering that they both play with Sam Huard at a local school.

Anyone else hear anything about this?

The last thing I read a few days ago was 93% OSU and UW 7%. Maybe the few guys that committed are recruiting hard to get Egbuka to change his mind.

Powerful, downhill runner that has some shake and bake. Upper body is built really well. Needs to add some muscle to his legs and at already 210, he could end up a serious load pounding thr rock at 220-225.

We wrap up the RB position for the class with a real good get out of Texas. Solid.

That's a very good find. Possible diamond in the rough kind of find. Almost 900yds rushing on just a tad over 150carries at 5.6yds per touch and 15 TDs.
Comes from a great H.S. program. I've been pounding the table for years that the Huskies needed to add true workhorse sized RBs to be able to better compete against the big boys of the NCAA. Gaskin was amazing, but how much even better our chances would of been in those bowls and the top tier of the PAC when you got 220+ on a 6' or taller frames pounding the rock down their throats.
Just hope this marks a change with Donovan pushing for better size and weight at the RB position.

I hope so. UW needs a makeover to get this program back on track.

I completely agree. That's one of the reasons why I wasn't too upset about Ahmed leaving for the NFL. He's an amazing athlete but not a guy who can really carry an offense. Even if Ahmed came back, I feel like the Huskies would've been better off giving Richard Newton a bulk of the carries in 2020.

I don't know if there is any data to support this belief, but I've always believed that the most successful formula with the run game is having a guy being able to pound the rock between the tackles wearing down the defense then switching in a speedster to take advantage of a fatigued defense.

It's kind of a random example but I always think about how Bo Scarbrough made the a good Husky defense look like a bunch of small children in the college football playoff.

Good to see Huard actively recruiting. I don't have much hope but landing Egbuka would make me feel a lot better about a class that has underperformed relative to recent recruiting cycles. I'm holding out hope that many of these 3 star guys we've gained commitments from are diamonds in the rough.

Who knows? This time last year I thought there was zero chance the Huskies would land Sav'ell Smalls.

Lots of rumors this one was coming for the Dawgs this weekend. Outstanding.

What a great commitment video. Paying tribute to his family by doing it on this date.

I think there's something there. I just can't see Egbuka taking passes from a Husky commit unless he's having second thoughts about staying home.
