You know who else gets downgraded because of his personality?

LeBron James.

Everybody loved MJ. LeBron is a better man and on a similar plane in basketball, but MJ will always be ahead no matter what LeBron accomplishes because people like him better.

Curry is a super good guy, but it seems like he's got more detractors than anyone. It doesn't help to be a good guy.

At least lately, it seems like every other article is that Curry couldn't play in the '90s. Also, if were as highly regarded as LeBron, he would've won at least one Finals MVP.

As far as haters, LeBron's got more of those. But regarding people who question a player's greatness, Curry's definitely got far more detractors. One factor in that is that LeBron truly is a top 3 player of all time, but it feels like Curry becoming a star NBA player has really rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

No matter how many articles you see like that there are twice as many ragging on LeBron. Just look at this thread right here for Pete's sake

LOL. This thread is hardly a serious attempt to detract from LeBron. For sure, I agree with you that there are a lot more LeBron haters.

I think Kareem gets slept on because a lot of people tend to judge his career from the mid to late 80's rather than look at what type of player he was during the early 70s till the early 80s

1982-1989 Kareem was an absolute beast, but he was no 1970-1981 Kareem
......and in High School....

.....and in College.

If he's not the Goat, he has to be top 3.

I have him 2.a, Lebron 2.b with the chance to rise to #1.

Michael will always be ahead because of his on the court accomplishments. You watched the video I posted they broke it down to even today's analytics and Lebron is behind him in almost everything.

The only things Lebron will pass Jordan on is due to longevity.

Anyone trying to make it a popularity contest is grasping at straws. All you have to do is look at 24-11 with 6 championships and never losing a final, to 18-31 with 3 championships and 6 times losing in the NBA finals.

LeBron is a amalgamation between some fella named JUSTIN Smollet and Ahmaud Arbery who steals TV's and has his friends spray paint the N-word on his house, because............reasons.

Lebron is already a top 2-5 player of all time. #2 is as high as he will go though and the gap between #1 and #2 is quite large.

I think if someone was asked to sculpt the perfect specimen for basketball -- it'd be Lebron James.

If I were to have my kid look at a NBA player I wanted him to look at as a role model. It'd be Lebron James. It is refreshing to see a superstar who has a normal family and is with his high school sweetheart.

He just doesn't have that killer mentality many of the greats were born with. If he did -- he'd be unstoppable.

I actually alternate my top 2 between MJ and Kareem pretty regularly.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

In both guys cases, they received the most backlash when they were too of the food chain.

LeBron gets more because of a few reasons...

1. He was anointed before he even graduated High School.

2. He's been elite longer.

3. LeBron is the joiner of Super Teams. Durant carries that label, not Curry.

Can't dispute any of this.

It's why some of us think it's a unfair comparison.

LeBron is uber-Magic Johnson.

Kobe was MJ-Lite.

1.MJ

2.Kobe

3. LeBron

LeBron does not have that determination to win at all cost mentality and attitude that MJ and Kobe had. If he did, the Heat never lose a title.
I think in the beginning, he was afraid to fail.

He's gotten over that.

That is the one stat he was higher, but Jordan is ranked #4 all time in assists per game for Shooting Guards with at least 500 games.

Every analytic they use for today's game, they broke them all down and compared Jordan and Lebron. It really isn't that close, even if you don't look at championships. They broke down the 100 best analytical games in the past 40 years. Jordan has 20 of the top 100 games. Lebron has 3 of the top 100 games. Jordan's 69 point, 18 rebound game is the highest scoring game in the last 40 years.

Here is a complete breakdown by player, by position, including all the analytics used today:

Being pretty passive-aggressive hasn't helped Lebron either.

But KD has taken that crown from him.

This is pretty cool.

....I had to sling it to my TV to get the full effect.
