OBTW no butthurt just a sideache from laughing at you getting outed
That was over a year ago but a dumbass like you just can't deal with it. I really get a chuckle on how upset you and a few other folks are over such a minor incident. You should seek mental help so you can just let it go... :D

Bad move if the Browns made the trade.

I don't think even the Browns are dumb enough to do this. $25M for a guy that has already had multiple issues including one of the most egregious in recent history?

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Browns remain bullish on extending DE Myles Garrett.
Garrett, of course, is coming off a season-ending suspension for swinging a helmet at Pittsburgh's Mason Rudolph, but it has done nothing to damage his relationship with the Browns. Garrett remains under team control for two more years, so a long-term deal is not a summer necessity for the Browns. Rapsheet believes there's "a chance" Garrett becomes the first pass rusher to crack $25 million per season.

Myles is a super intelligent guy. Not like he is Pacman Jones or something. He made a mistake. Albeit a big one.

He also punched a player and had dirty hits that knocked another out for the year. I'm not saying he isn't intelligent. I have no reason to think he isn't. But something needs to change if you are going to make this guy the highest paid non-QB in the league. If nothing else he will be under the league's microscope and be much more likely to be suspended for actions that may not get other players suspended and that is part of the picture going forward. It's not just a talent issue and even looking at just talent he shouldn't get $25M per IMO. Taking other things into account he definitely shouldn't

Did they offer 2 firsts to Cincy for their pick this year? If not then why would they do this deal.

The hit on Simiean was not dirty. He rolls out of the pocket trying to extend a play and Myles hits him square. I guess just let the dude run around and get a clean throw in

The Browns would be crazy if they didn't extend him long-term...$25M though. I would try to look in the $22-23M range.

Myles has definitely made some bonehead plays before the Mason catastrophe but he just needs to learn to control his emotions...he gets too caught up in the game. Intelligent guy but needs to mature on the football field.

He's the only top 5 guy in the 2017 NFL draft that will get an extension/long-term deal lol. Weird

5 year window with Rodgers? To age 42? Even though less than a handful of QBs in the history of the sport have had great years at 40 or later? Brees and Brady have. Favre had 1. Moon had one good year. That's about it.

and AR showed signs of slowing down last year....and as bad as Baker was last year he had a better QBR than AR. Yes, he had more weapons (Adams and Jones no slouches) but AR did not have maybe the worst coach the NFL has ever seen.

Ok...you're right, maybe 5 is a stretch...I still give him 4 solid yrs before he's done.

So...I'd shave a yr off the SB window...but even if you shave 2 yrs off...Rodgers gives you 3 yrs of a legit chances to play in the AFCCG. For a franchise that last tasted a pro football championship in '64, and has never played for the SB championship...yes, I would mortgage the future and go all in.

Baker...admittedly I'm not a Baker fan, but not a hater either, he's better than Kizer, and better than Johnny football so I can see why there is some optimism with him. I just don't see a title with him running the show.

yep still laughing:dhd:

I guess to protect egos one might tell a fib on a DB, but with money on the line, I will call out a 10 even if no saw how I made it and a 7 would probably slide by undetected. But I know it was a 10....if I ended up winning by a shot with a 7 instead of the 10 in earned, I couldn't take your money knowing I lied about a score.

On a discussion board...maybe not much guilt...lol...idk

Maybe.....but wasn't only Browns fans who thought they could be on the doorstep of a SB last season. Before they saw what Freddie was. No reason to think that cannot happen.

early 30s Rodgers? I might throw in a 3rd first rounder.

Freddy alone didn't drive a preseason AFCN favorite and SB contending team to a 6-10 record. He had to have some help...a lot of help. Bottomline LY, the Browns players probably read the clippings and maybe bought into the hype a little themselves. Kitchens wasn't ready to guide an entire team.

I'm willing to give a guy that talented a mistake...even a big one like that, but $25 mil per for a DE? He's younger and less injury history, but the way the NFL market shunned Clowney's efforts to make that kind of loot...I think CLE would be competing with CLE if they made that kind of deal for Garrett.

Sure I get it, you are still butthurt because I said I was posting from Texas instead of Wisconsin. You really don't have much of a life if this still upsets you after almost two years. Go see a shrink and get it off your mind if it still bothers you.

But you can't not resign him long-term...too much of a risk and he is only 24. It's only a matter of time before certain contracts for certain positions skyrocket, not just QB. Say they sign him to a 5 year extension...$25M/year. That won't seem too crazy at all halfway through his extension in 2023-2024, especially by that time if he is the best DE in the game.

I mean if you look at Lawrence's cap hit in 2022 & 2023, it's $24M and $26M.

Oh we know everyone here "fibs". Heck everyone is 6'-3", 250 #s, run 4.0 forties and can bench small Buicks multiple times.

The thing is most are smart enough not to get caught "fibbing":dhd:

I'm the one laughing at comments by you over something that happened almost two years ago. When are you going to figure out that it doesn't bother me? If you think I'm fazed by this there is a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you... :D
