I feel pretty safe with that one. Rodgers holds the career all-time passing rating and has never been below 92. Baker was at 78 last year.
A list of QBs who have had seasons below a 78 passer rating as full-time starters:

Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Brett Favre (4 times)
Ben Roethlisberger
Carson Palmer

Those are some recent ones, haven't looked all the way back. So, I feel pretty safe that having a 78 passer rating in one season doesn't actually mean anything.

It's a tough one for me too. I hated him with the Bills, and grew tired of him as DC with the Rams. Both he and Wade Phillips have this tendency to play their corners so far off the ball that they would frequently give up first downs if the QB could get the ball off. I'm hoping a new, younger outlook will pay off for the Rams defensively this year, but sometimes getting what you hope for is a bad thing...
His hardass mentality was what that team needed last year. Kitchens was a fine position coach, but he's never going to be a head coach IMO.

Gregg Williams. Not that he's a perennial HC candidate, but he was doing a solid job with the Browns that went unappreciated in favor of Freddie. And yes, I realize he's a prick, he's coached for both of my teams (Rams and Bills).

Damn. Completely forgot about Williams. My bad there.

I have discussed Baker with Browns fans they are quite certain he is the next Tom Brady and certainly better than Aaron Rogers. And none of their woes fall on their QB
doubt you could find anyone here who said this but don't let that stop ya sport.

Man...this thread has been up since Sat...all that golf this past weekend I guess....it had been a long break so I was due for 36.

Yay...all day and twice on Sunday.

You've got a good 5 year window with Rodgers...2 studs outside, stud RB, beefed up OL, TE is not a stud, but better than avg. plus the DEF is probably ready for a top 15 type position.

Absolutely yay!
5 year window with Rodgers? To age 42? Even though less than a handful of QBs in the history of the sport have had great years at 40 or later? Brees and Brady have. Favre had 1. Moon had one good year. That's about it.

and AR showed signs of slowing down last year....and as bad as Baker was last year he had a better QBR than AR. Yes, he had more weapons (Adams and Jones no slouches) but AR did not have maybe the worst coach the NFL has ever seen.

It's all in what you want Shane...if you want to win a SB within the next 3 to 5 yrs...you make the deal.

If you're okay just being more competitive, in the hunt for the DIV, make the playoffs...I think Baker can deliver that possibly, but I do not see the Browns lifting the Lombardi with Baker at QB.
Maybe.....but wasn't only Browns fans who thought they could be on the doorstep of a SB last season. Before they saw what Freddie was. No reason to think that cannot happen.

early 30s Rodgers? I might throw in a 3rd first rounder.

Are you so sure? Isn't that why Freddie got the job in the first place, because of his relationship with Baker? They let a legitimate head coach leave that had them improving to do so.
Yes I am sure.

Freddie got the job partly because of the success of the O in 2018....but it was clear Wylie was right when he said Freddie had little to do with the success. was more Zampese than Freddie. And he was right.

Dorsey hired Freddie because he could control him.

Implying Baker was on his way to being as good as Rodgers?
Struggling with reading comp aye ya? I realize not in you to admit you were wrong, but feel free to find a post where anyone said Baker was on his way to being Rodgers. Could he become elite? sure, but no one said he will. I'd bet against it.

Just wondering which legit HC the Browns let go. Do you mean Haley, the fella that was fired by K.C. in 2011 & hasn't been a HC since?
and was sabotaging the offense to get Hue fired.

Blame Dorsey for that. sure, Gregggggggggggg would have been better than Freddie. But cannot think of anyone who would not have been.

Dorsey wouldn't keep Gregggggggg over Freddie because he couldn't push Williams around.

Baker has to be Rodgers level to become elite?

There will never come a season where my father won't remind me that he wanted Gregg Williams all along, and he might've been right.
williams or Freddie? Yeah he was right. Hell Hue over Freddie would have been better. Probably a reason Greggggg has not sniffed another HC job, though.

Cannot recall the CBs, but I know he had Peppers (safety) playing in another Zip code.

I'd be shocked if he ever got to Rodgers level.....but can still be elite and not reach that level.

I don't think Rodgers is the right comparison for him at all, they're very different style QBs. However, being on "Rodgers level" was meant to say elite, which I fully believe Baker can become.

So I was posting from Wisconsin instead of Texas. If that is a felony then most everyone on SportsHoopla is guilty. Also, I really don't care if you believe me or not because you are still a dumbass.

It wasn't where you were posting from. It was you were stupid enough to get caught lieing on a chat board:dhd:

Please go ask your wife if it's ok for you to call others dumbasses after that:lol:

Almost everybody that posts here has not been truthful about everything so that puts me in the majority. I get a laugh on how butt-hurt you and a few other dipshits are about this. And yes, you are still a dumbass.
