Jarntt, I stay off your board out of respect to you and Ford but if Dallas could sign Clowney I think it would me a TREMENDOUS move. Having bookend stars at DE would leave Dallas with a top OLine and top DLine. Don’t think McCoy and Snacks are that effective anymore.
I am all for Clowney and have been saying it for a while. Bookending the two makes both way more disruptive and both play the run and the pass. But, they can't sign him without restructuring a bunch of guys unless they sign Dak first and lower his cap number. Snacks is the perfect fit to me. He can still clog the middle and I was reading a lot that he was injured last year and the year before was fantastic as usual. They need a true NT/Under Tackle. He doesn't need to play every down and will come waaaaaayyyyy cheaper than Clowney obviously. I also like Griffin if price is right and a bunch of the DTs floating around. I'm assuming Irving will never play again but knowing Jerry...who knows...

Early downs: Tank, Snacks, McCoy, Crawford (at a reduced price or cut him and bring in someone else)
Passing Downs: Tank, McCoy/Crawford/Snacks/rotation guys, Gregory (should be back)

Still probably draft at least one DL too.

I have said in the past maybe kick the tires on Irving Irving can be a force, but I just dont see a reunion happening. Irving's problems are much deeper than smoking weed. Irving also fleeced the cowboys when he missed months and months with minor injuries. Irving is just not committed to the NFL. Why anybody would gamble on this clown is beyond me.

plus 1.....Irving's pot issue should be the least of the worries with his teammates. This fucker quit on his team and will again.

I am not to keen on Gregory either.
He has been around since 2015. hardly working out or playing in the NFL.
I dont care that he was drafted in the 2nd round nowadays
If & when he is reinstated. I would treat him like any UDFA. if he pans out & earns a spot on the 53, great. if not cut him.
He shouldn't get any preferential treatment from draft status. he might very well just be a bum by now.

from everything I've read, he didn't get preferential treatment because of his draft status, he got it cause (unlike Irving) he worked his ass off, always on time and cared about the team.

Like I said. If he earns the spot great. if not Meh!

He has started exactly one game ever. if he is worth a roster spot so be it, but if not, hate to lose a guy just to keep him on the roster as a wait & see.

When it comes to stuffing the run, give me either Snacks or Suh. Have to lean toward more run stuff next to McCoy. Suh can also fill in as rotation behind McCoy giving you some 3 tech looks with he and a backup 1 tech.
Regardless, we need to find a future guy in this draft at nose. Hopefully a new staff brings out the best in Try Hill so he can be the second rotation behind McCoy.

This is great news to hear they are looking at these guys. I Would take a bunch of these guys and all of them could help. Looks like Poe is their #1 target

Cowboys free agent rumors: Dallas looking into Dontari Poe, Ndamukong Suh, Damon Harrison, & Mike Pennel
Poe beside McCoy...yes please....
So tired of seeing our DT's get shoved around. That shit would come to a screeching halt. Wait and see what JSmith, LVE and Lee look like with DT's that eat up all 3 interior OLinemen

would it be greedy to ask for two of these DT's? I'd rather go that way and pick multiple DB's early in the draft
I am cool with greedy!

so do we go with Looney or do we sign a FA center now that Frederick has retired?
