"Dominant" is a relative term. Oklahoma was the most "dominant" team in college football history in the 1950's during a 47 game winning stream with a high scoring offense and a defense that pitched umpteen shutouts. But they would get killed playing in today's game. Killed. As to "dominance", I'd give that honor to the 1995 Huskers who overwhelmed every other team that year. I just don't think that Nebraska team could beat an elite 2019 team like LSU.

when talking about the best I always go to 95 Nebraska or 2001 Miami

Well, that is just an ignorant statement. It would be like stating that whoever wins the cfb title in 2050 would decimate the champs of 2020, DUH, of course they would, doesn't change the fact that LSU 2019 was easily the most dominant team of 2019, and was so dominant, they can be compared to former teams who were equally as dominant or almost so.

The 1940 team did play and beat 4 Top Ten teams out of their 8 games. 5 out of 15 is 1/3rd but 4 out of 8 is half of their games, but LSU was never challenged, so I'd probably give LSU 2019 the edge over 1940 UMN.

But...

The 1934 team destroyed all of it's opponents, 270-34.

They beat Nebraska Ag 56-14
They beat Nebraska 20-0
They beat Pittsburgh 14-7 in Pittsburgh, they were sluggish after a 2 week layoff since their last game and let pitt get a 7-0 lead, but woke up in the 2nd half and scored 14 straight points to win the game. Pitt was ranked #4 after 7 games(6-1), they finished 8-1 with wins over Notre Dame(19-0) and USC(20-6) and Nebraska(20-6). They were named The Eastern Champs and one selector even named them national champs. UMn was the only team to beat them in 1933 as well.
They beat Iowa 48-12
They beat Michigan 34-0
They beat Indiana 30-0
They beat Chicago 35-7
They beat Wisconsin 34-0(Wisc had only allowed opponents to score a total of 50 pts against them for the entire season)

The 1934 team had 3 of the 13 Consensus All-Americans that year. 4 total made AA teams. Remember, all teams played 11 players both ways, 3 different sources each had 3 Gophers on their list of just 11 players. The team had SIX All-Big Ten players.

The Gophers averaged 325 yards of offence per game, while only allowing an average of 103 yards per game.

So I'd say the 34 team should be considered for the ALL-Time Greatest team, and the 40 team should be considered just one of the better teams of all-time, but not the greatest.

TAKE THAT!!!!!!!! @Blackshirts BLVD

Eh.

These arguments get older by the year. Nobody ever wins, no opinion is ever changed.

LSU was the best team in 2019. By pure nature and evolution, they are the best college football team of all time. Next year, the 2020 Champ will be the best college football team of all time.

Team bias, local bias, and largely now; conference bias, weighs too heavily upon everybody's opinion. Throw in the changes in the game, rules changes, and the massive move towards spread offenses and scoring, and it is impossible to compare.

The game has drastically changed. Who'd of ever thunk LSU would be #1 in the country in Total Offense and Alabama at #6? Who'd of ever thunk they would be #1 and #2 in scoring in the entire country?

Oh the times aren't a'changing, they have already changed and you are already behind.

List is invalid by having 2011 Bama ahead of this year’s LSU team. This team went unbeaten and Bama lost to LSU at home and didn’t play in a conference title.

Was Bama the better team? I think only really petty LSU fans would try and make an argument, but it doesn’t change the fact that team is ranked above a few teams they probably shouldn’t.

If this years Auburn defense could slow down LSU, I imagine Alabama's defense in 11 certainly could......

Not saying they have a better resume because that's not the case.

Again, that’s another issue with the ‘best team’ argument runs off the rails. Best team and best resume are two different argument but they bleed over.

I'd say that resume wise you guys are second and team wise I would put you 3 or 4.

Listing the NFL, OSU and the Steelers as your favorites shows me you are a LOSER. I have more respect for the WVU fan I debated last night. At least he has principles. You obviously don't.

lol how do i not have principles?

okay, i'm done with you. you're a clown, a troll, not worth anyone's time.
