We're getting toward the end, and I was going to list possible candidates from some major conferences around the country. Feel free to diss at will, and list your own. Most of my experience comes from watching SEC, but running a pickem group has led me to watch a bunch of games this year.
SEC: Miles and Saban (the usual suspects), Petrino (best O mind in conference), maybe Richt (great comeback run by UGA. Spurrier did a great job considering all that's happened, but Auburn, Auburn, Auburn. Dark Horse: Franklin from Vandy, who I think is hire for the year.
ACC: Swinney (you don't know how much that hurts to type), Beamer. I think Dabo is a shoo-in. Dark Horse: Mike London from UVA.
Pac-12: Chip Kelly (top 5 in nation), David Shaw. Dark Horse: Lane Kiffin (surprise!)
Big 12: I think Gundy would be a shoo-in, Stoops' loss to T-Tech is inexplicable, though OK has had some devastating injuries and kept motoring. Dark Horses: Snyder from K-state (done a lot with a little), Art Briles from Baylor.
Big 10: Man, a week ago I would have had to put Joe Pa as the frontrunner, but he's been ruled ineligible. Who does that leave? Mark Dantonio, Bret Bielema, Bo Pellini (ugh), Brady Hoke, maybe? I'm not sure there are any white horses here.
