Wait a minute...straight cutting Jeffrey post June 1 would cost something in the $5M range? If so....just do it!!

No, can't cut him.
Has to be a trade, which is why I'm willing to tack on a late Eagles pick to dump him.
If they cut him post-June 1st, it's a $15.4M cap hit.

He's part of the culture problem. Easy outright release if the numbers work.

And he dropped that perfect pass against the Saints.

lol

ok, sure...

Im agreeing with them here. I don’t think he’s out and out a vocal problem. But I’m really getting the feel he’s smarmy behind backs. I’d try to manage with that if he were productive at all anymore. But he really hasn’t been.

I think that missed catch to knock us out of the playoffs last season really fucked him up and it might have really put him in a bad place with this team and the fanbase. I think that broke him.

The fanbase gave him a pass because we had just won the Super Bowl.

He dropped Nick's pass and then cried like a bitch when Nick left.

He can't separate and I haven't seen him make a contested catch in 2 years.

That’s well said. I agree. I’m not a non retaliatory pussy. I just think there is no longer room for that in the game. Yes, there is no longer room for what Clowney did either. But two wrongs don’t make a right when such a dangerous game is being played.
My exact thoughts!

I am not a fan of Pederson bringing back Groh and Walch.

But based on what we saw at the end of the season...maybe the real problem was personnel as much as coaching. In other words, hard to rag on the receivers coach when maybe, just maybe, JJ Arcega-Whiteside can't play NFL football. Maybe he would look a lot better with DK Metcalf. When we bumped up some scrubs from the practice squad, suddenly the offense moved a little better.

Not a surprise Groh and Walch are back - still think Doug would benefit from adding a veteran to his staff. Howie says he is adding more front office personnel going into the off-season, we're going to need all the help we can get.

This off-season reminds me a bit of 2009-2010; we were transitioning coming off of a first-round playoff loss, traded McNabb and let Dawk go to FA... the next couple of seasons we had a lot of draft picks to remake the roster, and Reid and Co. shit the bed with those drafts, moves that set us back for years to come.

We NEED this transition to be better, to not waste Wentz's best years to come. If we did it once we can do it again but the draft capital is critical moving forward if we want any chance of sniffing another Super Bowl crown.

I’ll say this....Howie is saying the right things right now. That’s a start. We don’t know just who he has in the personnel dept that could have some talent. It’s just words right now, but I’m hopeful he follows it and leans in good people.

Doug I’m kind of giving a pass on for now. I don’t like Groh as an OC. I think he might be a fine positional coach but not OC. He certainly is being given time to grow into the role, so we will see. I don’t like Walch for anything, still. However, I’ll chalk it up to other issues for now.

Andy Weidl replaced Douglas as VP Player Personnel, so i think he can evaluate talent. Howie just needs to leave it with the scouts, just announce the pick, not make the final decision.

Yeah but Howie mentioned a new member being added to the front office this week, so hopefully its a personnel guy that can handle the scouting and FA rankings.
Bottomline they have to get younger, I think they have some good pieces in place now, they just need to upgrade in certain positions and get better talent.

One of the topics yesterday was the fact they brought up all the injuries and how they brought in a chief medical doctor to examine the way the training staff handles injuries and I have a feeling that whole side of the building is going to get revamped.

Dear God I hope they are finally serious about addressing this medical staff. Far too many issues. Most are just what happens in this game. But I still think they have not trained these guys up right making the injuries worse.

Here’s an interesting read on if JS moves on. I forgot about the tension in 2017 that got smothered with the SB. Could be a good time for him to move on on that alone.

7 defensive coordinator options for the Eagles if Jim Schwartz isn’t back in 2020

Out of the list here I would like George Edwards most of all. He did some really good things with Zimmer in Minny and has to be hungry to prove he can fully take the reins.
