I couldn't help but wonder if Doug and some of the other coaches took the gameplan over sometime in the 3rd Q. Adjustments had to be made. We all know well that this OC cannot adjust his fly. Did they maybe just grab control and cobble this together?

If the take away from this game is the tempo, the 3 step drops, not running the clock down to 0 on every play and that is it we still stand a better chance the rest of the way. These were some crushing things that were going on. Heard it mentioned on podcast this morning....but of course it was easier to play tempo and not run the clock down so low last night. They had, maybe, one skill player left to sub in. Makes it easier to not run the clock down and plod along.

It also eliminated the cute "we are smarter than the room" playcall bullshit that has bogged us down so much. I hope that is seen. I hope there is not a return to that arrogant "we are so smart" bullshit next week, or the Deadskins are gonna get us.

Or it could been the stands packed full of booing fans that finally got their attentions or Lurie listening to the ESPN telecast and hearing those two bash the crap out of this coaching staff ( which was fully acceptable with this fan!)

I'm not disagreeing with you but, there was a couple times last night ESPN showed the whole field and there was open receivers down the field but Carson was targeting Ertz.

Im not saying its Carson's fault either, ( cause I would target somebody as well if guys kept dropping balls I threw)
But this goes back to the QB coach and the OC being on the same page, there has to be balance on the play calling, dump routes so when the pocket breaks down on him he has some where to go with the damn ball..

There is a ton of stuff they need to fix, but it was good to see Wentz having fun in the 4th quarter!
Some of this, too, is rhythm and trust. If Wentz doesn't have trust that his guys are going to be in the right spot, he might not even look that way. I mean, on Scott's TD drive, they had another "JJAW doesn't know the play" moment on the play Ertz false started.

If these guys can't get lined up right, do we expect Wentz to consider them as viable second or third options in his progressions? Seems like they can get lined up right if the ball's coming their way, but some other times, it's a freaking clown show.

I am happy with the W but needing OT to do it against the Giants and after an awful loss to the Dolphins tells me that there are much bigger problems than a lack of WR’s. Howie and Pederson are the crux of the problem and they both need a thorough thrashing from Lurie.
From the top down there needs to be a reset and re-do.

You sign him and he's a frickin hamstring injury away from one and done in Philly!

I don't think the league lets him play this year
That's one more game than we would have had out of any talented WR, but now you're just being ridiculous.

JJaw is a bust and I'm seldom one to call rookies a bust. The dude can't run a sharp route ... sooo slow in and out of cuts. He relied on contested catches in college and that has not translated to the pro level. WR needs to be a huge priority this off season.

I'd give him another year to develop. Clearly Howie did his usual reaching on him. Look at the other receivers we could have had. Same as when we gambled on Sidney, and we lost out on Kamara.

Why in the hell would you add another head case to this roster, this roster can't get out of their own way most of the time!

And don't say " the locker will keep him in check" that motto sailed with Chris Long retired!

We need a game breaker, not a choirboy for 3 more games.

I think there is a lot of truth in this. I think the halftime adjustments were made by Doug completely probably without the help of Groh at all. In the first half it was clear the game plan was pure vanilla and the Giants knew what was coming. When you look at Wentz performance in the first half you would think he was missing throws because some of them were low. Well that was not the case. The receivers were blanketed the entire first half and they were sitting on routes. He was putting the ball in places where either our receiver mad the play or no one did. They were tough plays to make but it would be nice to have someone make them.

In the second half the Eagles used a lit of misdirection to throw the Giants off. Something I have not seen them do all year long. It forced the Giants to look actually guess what was coming. The start of the 3rd quarter was as bad as the 1st half as we had two 3 and outs. Somewhere when that happened Doug completely flipped the script because the play calling was completely different.

The Giants may be bad but that does not take away from how good Wentz played when he had the chance. We had Whiteside and Ward as our receivers and both are rookies with one being a converted QB. In the 4th I believe we had only Ward.

The defense is still a major problem and it falls on Jim Schwartz. He just can't help himself and wants to force feed his defensive scheme. That one high safety shit he keeps running is trash and it did not work. In the second half he ran a lot of 2 high safety coverage and that gave the outside corners help and allowed the rest of the defense to do it's job.

This off season both Schwartz and Groh needs to go.

Time to give Mailata a chance at RT.

No I know that has been an issue with guys lining up wrong, you can see him moving them once they come to the line

A win is a win is a win. At least they are still alive for the playoffs.
It would be nice to see them put 4 quarters together for once.

Ohhhhh I forgot about him. Could be possible. And (mentioned here earlier) Big V is at least more serviceable with a week of practice, as opposed to be thrust in.

Could be helpful to have them both ready. Peters is still Peters....but the rust is starting to show. A lot of false starts from him this year. I think he is starting to fade and is trying to get a jump on every snap. The leg back pop out is being done a lot. It’s getting time.

How much longer does the NFL have to "investigate"? Yes there were allegations ... but as far as I know AB hasn't been "charged" with anything? Is there anything pending legally?

You are right. There doesn’t seem to be anything going anywhere on that front. Still, it’s a mystery what this league will do if and when he does sign. I think that is the biggest reason he hasn’t been picked up....no one knows what this goofy ass league will do at that point.

I can venture that some team has reached out to the league and asked and been told there would be some kind of suspension, and dropped the idea.

I think she has a civil suit filed against him as well, and that is what the League is using as leverage
