I'm asking you. What is the strike zone? Is it based on height or stance? If it's stance then you're going to start seeing a lot more players coming up with a big crouch like Henderson does. How do you pick up the strike zone? Looking at the letters on the front of the jersey? Point being that if you have this people are going to adjust their games around it and pulling out the human element from behind the plate is going to make the game even more bland than it already is. It was a ball. BFD. They lost 7-1. Apparently mlb "analysts" have seen how much hot air you can blow over a blown call like the NFL and NBA and figured this argument fits into the 24 hour news cycle.
Exactly. It's not the first bad/missed call in baseball, umpires have been doing it since baseball started and certainly won't be the last. If you take away the umpire and the human element, it ruins the game in my opinion.

Meh. 'Tank, Rebuild, and Dominate' is bad for the league in the long run, imo.

No way. We need an evil empire that exhibits the best in the game. This encourages the rest of the league's teams to buy, trade, call up and nurture the talent they feel they need to compete with the best.

Over the decades, the Yankees have been near the top. Boston finally became a winner when they found some brainy guy who figured out how to fix the team so they could compete with the new yorkers.

There are pros and cons to the current era.

I go back to my original post on this where you had about 8 years where anything could happen in the playoffs. We've had about 4 now where we've had a super team going all of the way.

I'm not a fan of how things have shifted but I do see the upside of having great teams. Its just the terrible teams on the other end that I don't like. I have family members who are Royals fans and they didn't even care enough to talk about baseball much this year other than 'the Cardinals are doing it wrong. You just need to tank and get a better team'

Yeah, but they came out of the woodwork, and you couldn't shut them up a few years ago.

Stop betting against the Stros...and problem solved.. LOL

I'm guessing the first two games he bet on the Astros, lost big, then switched and bet on the Nats, then....lol

I have bet on Houston all five games...first two I was betting heavily, because the odds were so lop-sided -- like they are again tonight. Then, for games 2-4, I bet lower because I was running out of funds, but still on Houston.

Putting down 2G's tonight. If there's a game seven, I don't know where I'll put it.

Tonight is not the game to go heavy on the Astros... if somehow they lose tonight and max is not available for game 7..... THAT is when you go heavy...

Tonight is not a big bet for me personally.

Martinez already said Sherzer would definitely be available for game 7, but not sure how he could guarantee such a thing.

He said "in some capacity", not necessarily starting, but could come out of the pen if needed.

And even if he starts how many can he go... you know? Maybe 3?

He needed help getting dressed before game 5 Sunday... im sure they can shoot him up where he can attempt a few innings...

Bro, let me tell you... if needed we bring Cole back to pitch relief in game 7... he will have 3 days rest by then.
