That was a make up call from the previous batter.

That's why I wish they would do away with the home plate umpire and just let the automatic square make the call... Can't be bought, framed or influenced... Either is a strike or it's not a strike..

Dang, playoff baseball isnt nearly as chaotic lately. If Houston gets this, we're looking at 4 straight champions with +200 or better run differential in the regular season. The previous 8 champions only had 1 team that dominant heading into the playoffs.

Nationals have scored 3 total runs in first 26 innings at home.
AND
They are being bludgeoned again by the Astros offense again.

But, hey it was all about one bad ball 4/strike 3 call??????

They better try and score a bunch of runs in the 9th rather than fixate on one missed call when they were down 4-1.

As much as the series seems over, it’s not, Strasburg is 4-0 this post season, he’s dominant, so it’s not out of the question for the Nats to push this to a 7th game... If they do win and by some miracle Scherzer comes back for game 7, that would be an interesting scenario .... Nats bats must wake up a bit though, they’ve been simply shut down the last 3 games ...

I know. One bad strike call out of the ~280 pitches thrown were the deciding factor in a 7-1 game.

LOL
You rooting for the nats, dude?

Actually, yeah, a little more than the Astros because Nats have never won a WS. I wanted to see some history. NL East! lol. Two great teams. Whoever wins it, deserves it.

I also like the Astros and the way they rebuilt the team after losing 100 for three years 2011-2013, then turning it around to win 100 three years in a row '17-'19.

Meh. 'Tank, Rebuild, and Dominate' is bad for the league in the long run, imo.

Well it's a lot better than tank, tank more, sell team, tank again, like it's been going in Seattle for decades.

And how do you do that though? Set strike zone for everybody? Zone that adjusts to the players height/stance? If it's the latter get used to half of the league looking like Rickey Henderson setting up at the plate.

There's nothing wrong with the umps. You want to completely sterilize the game then yank them.

Do you think they use the same size box now for a 5'6 Altuve and a 6"7 Judge?

I'm asking you. What is the strike zone? Is it based on height or stance? If it's stance then you're going to start seeing a lot more players coming up with a big crouch like Henderson does. How do you pick up the strike zone? Looking at the letters on the front of the jersey? Point being that if you have this people are going to adjust their games around it and pulling out the human element from behind the plate is going to make the game even more bland than it already is. It was a ball. BFD. They lost 7-1. Apparently mlb "analysts" have seen how much hot air you can blow over a blown call like the NFL and NBA and figured this argument fits into the 24 hour news cycle.
