When Schembechler arrived at Michigan, the facilities were terrible. The team was getting dressed in the bleachers at the basketball facility. You know what Bo said, "You see that rusty nail right there? Fielding Yost hung his hat on that rusty nail! We've got tradition here! Michigan tradition! And that's something no one else has!"
.

Harbs is TRADITION people!!

What did he win in the PAC 12? Shaw is the one that got them over the top and won conference championships. He won a bunch of games in the P12, that’s about it. Andrew Luck was the story when Harbs was coaching Furd.

I know, but at the time people said “yeah, but Shaw just took advantage of the foundation Harbaugh built.”

Now most of those people saying that crap will backtrack and claim otherwise, but a sizable group out there said that Harbaugh was better than Urban and Saban.

After you fire Harbs who would you replace him with? Great coaches are hard to come by. Look at FSU, Tennessee, Miami, Texas, Nebraska, SoCal, etc. They were big time programs, a couple of them are even "bluebloods," and they are floundering in mediocrity or just straight suck. Is there a great coach out there that could take Michigan to the next level?
A lot of truth here. But for how long are you willing to wallow in mediocrity with a lameduck coach?

There is something to be said about how terrible Don Brown's defense is. But naturally the HC takes all the heat for that unit's ineptitude.

No, you have Saban, Dabo, and a few younger coaches like Riley and Day. Michigan has zero shot at Dabo, and Saban’s next move will be to retire. Riley and Day likely wouldn’t move unless the NFL comes calling.

Don Brown’s defense isn’t the problem. The offense has been a hot mess even with Savior Shea.

Yea, could be, but you never know. Shit, I can't believe Coach O has y'all where he does. Very Daboesque.

O is a good recruiter in a recruiting hotbed, and he (unlike Les) is practical enough to see the need for an offense that takes full advantages of said talent.

For sure. The defense has always seemed legit, but it's the change on offense that has brought them back to life.

Doesn’t help that the football program is no longer a priority in Ann Arbor. The school could not care less about the losses. This ain’t the 80s and 90s anymore.

I guess that is the big question. When do you make your move and how much bank are you willing to throw at it.
Until a good candidate or opportunity presents itself, I don't know how you can justify making that call.

I'd rather be where Michigan is than aTm right now. You put Joe Burrow on Michigan's team and they are undefeated. You put Burrow on aTm and they still have two loses.

Not having a QB is Harbaugh's issue but one they can fix. They came back on Penn State and I still can't believe that guy dropped the ball. With better QB play throughout the game they win.

Not having a QB IS harbaughs problem. And one he isn’t fixing. Harbaugh has 4 top 300 QBs right now Patterson was the #1 QBs recruit in the nation. The fact that he has yet to develop any web that he recruited to the program is a major issue. The talent is there the coaching and development is not.
