Buh-bye Cards
I'm not as mad as I should be. This is clearly the worst Cardinals team I've seen in the playoffs and somehow they're in the NLCS.

You have to give credit to the Nationals for having that extra gear with their pitching.

Cards also finally seeing the bad GM job that Mozeliak has done over the past few years showing up.

Yeah your GM sucks, having you in the playoffs almost every year and the NLCS this year. Fire him, now.

They got a patsy in the NLDS and got exposed.

I honestly didn't think the Nats would get past the Dodgers, who were the most balanced and fearsome team on paper in the playoffs. I'm not sure of what's happened the last two games with the Cards; everyone and his brother knows that to defeat the Nats, you just gotta get past their few good starters to that juicy middle relief.

I think there is a big margin between 'fire him now' and 'fowler, Bader, and Carpenter are bringing home a world series'

What there is is big margin between professionals running baseball teams and mopes like us typing on message boards.

But sure, let's pretend he didn't get Goldschmidt, Flaherty, Wong....and that he doesn't run a team that is always in the playoffs.

Fair enough but I do think the Cardinals have been living in the dreaded middle ground the past three years.

I don't think anyone should get fired.

Give me the middle ground of the playoffs any time. It's baseball, once you get there it's close to random

So were teams coached by Marty Schottenheimer and Andy Reid. Sometimes just getting there every year wears thin.
Yeah you probably prefer the Rockies never making them

The Nationals are more comparable to the Chiefs than the Stl Cardinals. The Nationals are the team that makes the playoffs every year.

The Rockies would have to perform like the Cardinals first. Perhaps after years of making it I would be tired of them not progressing further and want a change.

Shildt says in the post game presser

"We've done everything we want to except score runs"

Huh?

The Nationals are just the better team.
