I agree that Harden wants the MVP award badly. So does Russ.

And that is the problem.

I am not sure either player is willing to make the sacrifices necessary for the Rockets to be a legitimate title threat.

Could they be a great regular season team though?

Yeah, I buy that.

obviously you see where i'm going with this, coach...

could it work? Possibly...

but i ain't believing it till i see it...

THe Jazz added some really nice pieces.

But, the top of the West is damn strong. So they could easily be a 4 seed and lose first round. That said, I guarantee you that nobody will want to to see Utah in the playoffs.

And claiming the Sixers were a bigger threat threat to the Raptors than the Warriors is just ignorant.

Maybe they were a bigger threat than the KD less, Klay less team the Raptors played at the end of the series, but your bias against GS is getting funny.

The Jazz are in no way on the level Toronto was last year...Not even close

I also didn't see you making any excuses for a kyrie and love less cavs...So why cry now? And what does that have to do with what i said? You can only play with what is out there, so in conclusion yes the Sixers and probably the bucks as well were tougher challenges, not sure why that upset you so much?

Keep sleeping on them. Harden wants that MVP badly.

IMO there is a great shot they're the top seed in the West.

I actually think the Rockets are going to be way better than anyone thinks

Although we won't know till they actually play, but i am putting that out there as well...

They could use Kevin Love. Proven 3rd option, doesn't need the ball much and gets a ton of rebounds...That would likely be the best big 3 in the NBA

Yeah that was basically my point. I have very little confidence in James Harden in May but regular season? IMO, they're a 55+ win team which should be good enough for a top 2 seed out West.

I need to see more of Russ/Harden together. Russ is the one who should take a backseat. Let's hope he understands that.

I would give Russ lots of time with Harden on the bench if possible.

Those 2 should never be on the bench at the same time if the Rockets are smart.

I agree with that.

Also though, I think it is equally on Harden to adapt. They are both very good with the ball in their hands. Harden may be the best ISO player of all time. But if they are just taking turns offensively, then they aren’t maximizing each other’s talents when they are on the court together.

Not doing this again.

Raptors won last year.

They don’t win if GS is healthy. Period. GS wins with either Klay or KD for the full 7.

And while you can’t argue with history, the Raptors were 1 crazy bounce away from a possible 2nd round exit. They experienced many breaks along the way.

The Jazz are good enough if they get those same kind of breaks. Which is my point. And there isn’t a clear juggernaut favorite out there, so the whole thing is a lot more open.

Forgot to say in my previous post that George Hill & Kyle Korver weren't used either... Even the Lopez twins were both benched during the 2nd half!

Clearly coach Bud has selected the starting roster and major rotation players on Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Hill, Ilyasova, Robin Lopez and was trying to evaluate the rest of the roster (but injured Wilson) on how to supplement the guards and the wings depth.

Interesting that the Bucks "trio of youth" for last season on Divincenzo, Brown and Connaughton, all showed significant improvement on their game, but were all given ball-handling minutes other than their (usual for previous season) off the ball role.

In a word, the Bucks looked absolutely scary by comfortably winning the game with a 10pts points differential (122-112) despite mostly playing their deep bench, their 2-way contracts and their exhibit-10 contracts.

Most impressive, that after Dragan Bender was fouled out with 5mins remaining on the clock and with the difference having being dropped to only 4pts, the Bucks finished the game by playing their two 2-way contracts (Mason and Reynolds), two out of their exhibit-10 contracts (Tucker and Maye) and Thanasis Antetokounmpo!
Yet, that line-up increased the difference to 12 pts before the game ended with a 10-point win for the Bucks.

Overall, the Bucks made it clear that they will be the favorites to win the championship this season and have the depth and talented youth to continuously contented for many seasons that will follow after this!
You put way too much into a meaningless preseason game. I've seen teams go undefeated in preseason and end up in the lottery, and I've seen teams not win a preseason game and win the chip. Once again, you are a homer, and an idiotic one at that.

That's what a lot of folks seem to forget. It's not like the Raptors rolled to the finals. They caught a ton of breaks along the way. Starting with Kawhi being traded there in the first place.

Then the crazy shot, then the Warriors lose both KD and Klay...

It was a lot of fun watching the Raptors and great that they won, but that's a lot of breaks going their way for it to happen.

Why haven't you added the Rockets icon to your profile yet?

This is trivially obvious to all but trolls and Raptor homers

Bucks vs. Jazz in a few hours... The two teams that are favored by those which know the game to be the ones left standing next June, are meeting each other during the preseason.

Other than this being an extremely interesting game to watch, it will be interesting to see if coach Bud reveals his final decision on the 5th man in the Bucks starting line-up next to Bledsoe, Middleton, Giannis and Brolo.

It looks like Gobert won't play... That's unfortunate news.

It also seems that Sterling Brown is listed as "last minutes coach decision" due to a left quadricipite muscle bruise he suffered during the game against the Bulls... Therefore Brown may be ruled out and this would mean that whoever coach Bud chooses to be the 5th starter, it won't mean that this would be his final decision for the roster's starting line up.

For an individual award. That's why they won't get past the 2nd round and why it could blow up on them.

I agree but his mission for that award can make them the best team (by record) in the west

I guess playing against the Bucks without Gobert, can only result to Giannis having a party in the rim which can only cause him being benched for good only in the first minutes of the 3rd quarter, with the difference approaching +40pts and before he can have the few assists missing in order to have his first triple double of the season... but... If having one Antetokounmpo on the floor is surely scary, what can the result be if the Bucks have two?
