I don’t think AP makes a difference here at all . What does make a difference is missing the bomb for a TD . Then follow that up with a drop of a pass that would have been a first down . That’s execution

Now for the defense Gruden is the HC and he chose manusky

All in all Gruden doesn’t have any more time in year 6 period

If we have a losing year I hire mconnell as HC and find another Dc and go from there

You cannot say that dad, as you don't know. AP made a difference last year didn't he? To the tune of offensive player of the year my friend! He made nothing on most days into something. How many times last year, (you can go look it up) that AP was met in the hole but didn't go down. He always made positive yards. AP made an average Oline look pretty damn good with 1,200 yards last year. He should have been active, period!

I'm all for hiring O'Connell at year end as many are. I'm for firing Manusky now. I have seen enough. Replace him with Tomsula (trust me the defense will love that) next week and see what kind of effort the defense brings. I will say this, if not for Landon Collins yesterday, this defense not only would have been shredded, it could have been far, far worse if Collins is not on our team.

Here is what I think. The D couldn't stop the Eagles. Holding penalties, a dropped pass and a missed open WR were the problem … exefriggincution …. was the problem.

So if you weren't around for the Joe Gibbs years, Joe ran the offense and Pettibon ran the defense. Joe was the HC … he ran nothing on defense.

Joe Gibbs was a leader . . . Jay Gruden is a coordinator at best.

Our highly touted defense will continue to wear down over the course of a long NFL season if they can't get off the field after 3rd down plays. Tired bodies = lots of mistakes.

Yeah, and the injuries will suddenly disappear also. Not gonna happen, we are the MOST injured team in football dating back a couple of years and still trending in that direction. It's absolutely weird!!!

The OLINE is urine and has been. The same urine OLINE next week also. When AP goes for 100 will you say the OLINE was great or the defense he just hung 100 on was urine? Likely you won't say AP earned every 100 yards.

Nah, if he gains 100 next week it will be because AP can do a lot with very little. That's all that means.

I hate playing the what if game, but what would the score have been if Jordan Reed, Trent Williams, Rueben Foster, Adrian Peterson, and Jon Allen had been out there?

Are we closer than most of us think, myself included?

I appreciate you posting this type of thing but honestly don't want to listen to anything this guy has to say at this pt. It is the same crap season after season - just excuses & a promise to do better that rarely materializes. He also seems to get a pass on just about everything & it is always someone else's fault.

I was OK with giving him another shot this season, but my patience is wearing thin especially with this BS with Peterson. I hope that Gruden proves me wrong but kind of hard to believe that given their schedule, his past & his current behavior. It is almost as if the last name Gruden is now
synonymous with bad head coaching in the NFL. Cmon Jay - do better.
Make Peterson angry for week 2 cowboys game. Master Gruden.

Redskins vs. Eagles - Play-By-Play - September 8, 2019 - ESPN

Here is what the Skins did for the 2nd half except for some late garbage time stats (hmm you thinks that AP might have been able to add to those numbers?):

3 plays 1 yd
3 plays 0 yds
4 plays 4 yds

I agree that the defense did terribly in the 2nd half & has to be held accountable. However this type of play from the offense was a contributing factor & it also kept the defense on the field even more. I also love how you portray it as if Gruden is only responsible for the offense. As someone else here noted - he is the head coach (perhaps he is a Norv Turner type & should stick to being an asst).

Yes CK missed that bomb for a TD in the 3rd Qtr. the oline kept committing penalties. But the offense still put up 20 points that should of held up for this game. Gruden as nothing to do with the defense that has been well documented. This game is not on Gruden. Its on the defense. Our over priced secondary can not communicate. Constantly giving up 3rd and longs.

We basically gave them the game with the 2 bombs. but tis all grudens fault? Year right. Plus if Paul Richardson doesn't step out of bounce that's another TD.

same thing. We still have a bad secondary that blew coverages and a bad d coordinator.

If Gruden had Gregg Williams, this is a playoff team.

At the end of the day, Gruden's inability or interest in hiring a competent defensive coordinator will be his downfall.

I did not talk about leadership. My post was about HC and coordinator. I did not say Manusky was good. Clearly Joe Gibbs has a history beyond football about what kind of leader he is.

But lets look at Joe Gibbs part II. He was 4 games under .500. After Gruden's 1st year he is 1 game under .500. Now I am not saying his better than Gibbs. What I am saying is there is a negative culture in football since Snyder took over.

What happens when you don't execute for Belichek. GONE!!! They all know it. He doesn't have the same issues. You can blame Gruden, Zorn, Spurrier, Shanahan … whoever you want. The negative culture fostered by Dan Snyder and henchman du jours is the problem with the team.

What do you think it would take to get Gregg here. He didn't seem none too interested last time they were looking.

Head Coach

I think he would rather take Jay's job than save it.

You might be right but I still don't think he would come. He knows the deal here. Snyder has already bent him over once. Gregg is a punch you in your face kind of guy.
