And that's what cracks me up so much about people knocking D'Lo's signing. The Warriors basically signed a 23 year old all star to a 4 year deal to help alleviate this, but people act like it's a negative. The Warriors weren't going to let Klay walk. After KD left they certainly weren't going to let Draymond walk. And Curry will (hopefully) retire a Warrior or at the very least will be with them until he's in his late-ish 30's.

So the Warriors covered all their bases. They got younger. They retained a strong core. They remain competitive when healthy. I don't see how people can still knock this team. But maybe I'm also mis-remembering how people viewed the Spurs keeping their core intact too.

You and @msgkings322 are a couple of homers. You guys couldn't be negative about your team if you tried. You two get triggered by anyone pointing out a fault with your team as if was a personal insult. It's fucking hilarious.

With GS committing to all those long term contracts, they are locked into this group with the hopes of winning a ring within the next 4 years. Here's the problem, though, it isn't fucking happening. This core isn't getting to the finals again with DLo or anything they can trade for DLO. It's a ton of money to commit to a team that has no chance of going to the finals. If GS's plan was always to be a 2nd rate contender then, bravo, mission accomplished but I doubt that's the case.

The fact that you don't root for any team causes idiocy like this.

I have my bias of course, but I'm objectively far from a homer. I've been saying that there's no direct formula right now for the Warriors and no one knows how this thing is going to play out. But from a peripheral standpoint, everything they've done makes sense. This whole thing could blow up in their faces. I've not once denied that. But I've also said what else were they supposed to do. I don't see a better alternative than the situation that they're in, given a multitude of different factors.

I've talked about Draymond when he wasn't playing well and regression. I've dogged Kerr for his terrible sub patters and lack of in game adaptability. I've said Bob Myers has done a shit job in the past of drafting players suited towards their future. I've talked about Steph costing the team many times with his sloppy play and need to clean up certain things.

Maybe you haven't seen any of those because you're newer around here, but I'm about as objective as you'll find around here about my own team and their flaws.

Alternatively, let's go back to the day KD walked. Klay's a free agent. Draymond's not extended. Shaun Livingston isn't waived and stretched and the Warriors retain their two picks.

What do you think the Warriors should do? Could be for next year, or beyond, your choice.

Neither he nor Wiggy have a good answer for this, because the pros who actually do this for a living made the best play

What do you think are the W's chances of winning a ring in the next 4 years?

I'm rooting for the Lakers.
But they aren't your team, you just like one of their players

You said so yourself, that rooting for players was better than having a team. That's why you don't know the difference between a homer and a fan.

Better than if they didn't do the Russell deal.
Better than all but 6-7 other teams

I'd say 30-35%

If I were the owner, I would have kept the core together because it makes sense from a PR standpoint to give this core another chance. If I was just about winning I would have kept Curry and Thompson and explored trades to surround those 2. I think Draymond regressed a lot this year, he isn't worth a max anymore. It would have been interesting if they could have pulled out a 3 way trade to get a Paul George or maybe a Jimmy Butler.

There is always a chance I could stick around for a while. I was a Clippers fans from the early 90's until last year when they trade Blake.

Probably less than 25%.

Warriors will still have 3 All star caliber players for the next 4 years. Steph's 30, Klay is 28 and Draymond is 28. That at least will get them into the conversation. There are many things that need to go right, including a few of their draft picks turning into solid players, getting a few quality vet min guys and possibly some buy-outs at the right time.

It's a crap shoot but the core of the team, if healthy, gives them a routine 4-6 seed, IMO.

Paul George would have definitely be interesting if given the opportunity. I'm just not really a Jimmy Butler fan, but also another interesting possibility. @tlance has mentioned many times Robert Covington being an ideal 3 for the Warriors and I agree. If D'Lo needs to go, I think unless there's a real game changer, they need ancillary pieces suited to match the strengths of Steph, Klay and Draymond.

Cavs have a chance to be good next year. Kevin Love didn't play the entire season last year, plus another lottery pick, with sexton who looked good last year imo

If they trade TT for Hayward or something similar, i think their is a good chance they make the playoffs in the east next year. A lot has to go right, but it is very possible.

Unless they want to tank for one more year, but with the way the lottery is set up it doesn't really benefit much to tank...Might as well try, and then if it doesn't work just missing the playoffs is good enough

I agree. But imo, being good enough to make the playoffs would be a mistake given what they're trying to do. It would put them in NBA purgatory. They'd be good enough to be a 1st or 2nd round exit. But couldn't do much to get better.

Still not a fan the way most are. And still the reason you don't know the difference between a homer and a fan.
