The visual of this is pretty mind boggling.

This year our LB crew gonna be a force. I am interested in seeing Lee running with the TE down field, LVE slipping double teams and making behind the line tackles and JS going sideline to sideline protecting the his turf.

Add to that what appears to be a pretty salty line in front of them and this defense overall could be special.

Another year of complaining about the Safety position not being upgraded LOL
I think Woods is going to be really good this year. In and of itself that won't make Heath any better, but I think as they gain more confidence in Woods knowing his assignments, they may become more comfortable putting a young guy back there knowing he may make some mistakes but have Woods there to help clean it up. This team has always been afraid to play guys that may not know the defense 100%, yet plays a guy that knows it and sucks in it.

Still can't believe we ignored safety in free agency. Thornhill vs Hill is going to be compared for years here I think. Hopefully we made the right call. Looks like Iloka isn't doing much and may not make the team. We know Frazier is horrible in coverage. That leaves Thompson and Wilson as the guys to hopefully take the job (or at least some snaps) from Heath. I think with a healthy Jones our DBs are going to be better than last year. I also have been perplexed for years why they haven't at least taken Heath off the field more on 3rd downs. There is no reason to not go with our top 4 CBs and Woods in the nickel. This is why I'd still look at Eric Berry if his demands are down a little and I'm sure they are.

I think once we get some of these other contracts out of the way. it would be possible to kick the tires on Berry. I read awhile ago. Once he missed out on the payday he wanted. Berry probably wont sign with a team until close to the start of the season

Woods has been the talk of camp.

One problem remains...QB's will go to the line and look to see where Health lines up

I may have mentioned this before but here it goes again. I was discussing Heath with a buddy a year or so ago over a few beers and I said Heath was one of the worst safeties in the league and not just starting safeties. He said "oh he cant really be that bad" and then he looked it up. Heath ranked like 72nd among safeties in the NFL. That's worse than some teams #2 and others #3 guys. To say he is terrible is not really fair to terrible

Woods is not the problem. I like him. I would look at EB as well.

or take off and run to his area knowing he will take a bad angle and miss the tackle.

I read where Heath was rated as one of the worst starting safeties in football last season. The occasional splash play does not make up for all the blown coverages and missed tackles. I would prefer to see Wilson take over.

Here we go again. Hopefully this is nothing but with him it's always a concern. Don't think he will ever really be healthy again.

Josh Gordon reinstated after many gaffes, what's the word on Gregory. Some more Goddell BS?

I don't think he applied for reinstatement yet. I suspect he will be reinstated at some point but it will require him to have shown progress in the NFLs eyes. What they deem progress for him I have no idea. I thought based on what we had heard that he would have applied around the same time that Gordon did, so maybe he has yet to accomplish whatever it is the league wants him to.

Randy hasn't applied yet, which is odd as reports over a month ago said he would apply within the week. Guess he hasn't stopped smoking yet. Supposedly his parents are moving from Michigan to North Texas to help him with his accountability partnership. Pretty ridiculous

Missed the 1st half last night. Watching it now.

One of the major differences I notice between Weber & Pollard.

Pollard runs to the line. Weber stutter steps even when he doesnt need too. That just gives a defense more time to get position on the play. I think that can get coached out of him, but so far I am not impressed with Weber at all.

I see more of the same from last week.
Dak still hasnt thrown an incompletion.
White still playing horribly (dont see him on the roster week 1)
Johnson still running patterns like an A lister. Getting open & then dropping the ball. What a waste.
Devin Smith makes the team & if I may be so bold. He might end up our #3 guy at some time this season, if he continues like this.
Seems like Hill has some growing to do before I can get excited about him :(

Oh yeah.
So when do we bring in competition for the Kicker position?

Kicker could be the difference between 12-4 and 9-7

Maher missed another in the 30-40 range? He's gotta get released, he's gonna cost us a game, if not. Hope it isn't a really BIG one, like a playoff or SB victory. Probably multiple games
