Kyle Long may be back

Under IR rules he is eligible to start practice as early as Monday and could be activated on Dec 29th. All indications appear he's doing very well and on track.

This would be a huge boost going into the playoffs. Our oline has been pretty good so far w/out him, with him we'd be in excellent shape and right on time too.

Theoretically good because Kyle is a solid player...but not having played at game speed for a while and then being thrust into a playoff game could be less than ideal.

He is unreliable and injury prone. Oakland is the place he aught to be. They may even give us a decent draft pick for him.

Long has been a problem child so far but BS is correct, we would be lucky to get a conditional 6th rounder for him at best, and attitude problems aside, he's too good when healthy to justify losing him to a late round pick. Let's milk his talent for this final season, as just about everyone agrees this will be it for Long, at least as a Bear.

If he is the cancer that he seems to be, a 6th would be great.


Talent is great and all, but this team has too much chemistry, depth and talent to put up with a headcase.

I'd love for the guy to step up and get his shit together, but I believe the injuries have taken a toll, to the point where he is not an elite player anymore, and I see a guy that is extremely prideful and frustrated with that.


Just seems the negatives have outweighed the positives lately.

I was being overly optimistic just to prove a point. I seriously doubt we could even get a 6th rounder for him. I'm not necessarily arguing with your take on his attitude or how it might impact the team. If he continues down this path, I think the more likely option is Pace will simply cut him. If he's healthy, I'd hate to see that because he can still bring it, but I do agree that the attitude has to stop.
